Specifically, the resource will create engineering designs for databases given application requirements. This resource will also develop detailed infrastructure and hardware requirements to support SQL Server instances and clusters. Furthermore, the resource will develop automated monitoring and maintenance plans and scripts. Essential Duties Responsibilities · Install and configure SQL Server software · Create professional documentation of database operational processes and procedures · Maintain SQL Server databases, including monitoring and maintenance automation · Work with vendors to resolve issues with database software · Perform backup and recovery · Develop SQL Server monitoring and maintenance scripts · Performance tune databases · Perform Disaster Recovery testing · Perform storage maintenance and optimization · Produce reports for capacity management · Produce event and incident management reports · Support long term problem management process · Execute change requests and participate in weekly change request board meetings · Prepare database release plans in support of application releases · Produce reports to support audit function · Perform periodic security audits · Patch databases instances. · Configure and manage clustered databases · Configure replication · Work on infrastructure projects, deployments, operational issues and documentation of system configurations · Perform evening and weekend work as needed for on-call support and maintenance window support · Perform operational handoffs with offshore DBA team Qualifications Requirements · Bachelors degree · Good written and verbal communication skills · Four or more years of SQL Server database administration experience · Four or more years of IT experience · Self starter/ability to work independently when needed · Methodical problem solving skills/critical thinking · Experience with disaster recovery set up a plus · MCDBA Certification preferred · Strong technical writing skills · Strong customer service skills · Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and projects · Ability to prioritize tasks · Experience with database performance tuning · SQL 2008 64 bit experience a plus · ITIL Foundation Certification · Windows Server 2008 and 2012 a plus · Networking a plus Thanks & Regards; *sahitya* Talent Acquisition Specialist *Astir IT Solutions, Inc.* Email:sahi...@astirit.com Office: (732) 694 6000 - ext. 724 Fax :973-215-2191 50 Cragwood Rd.
