*Status: Exempt, Full-time* *Reports to: Restore Public Trust Research Director* *Position Summary* Restore Public Trust, a new project of the New Venture Fund working toward accountability and transparency in government to root out corruption and malfeasance, seeks a Senior Researcher to support its work. This position is based in Washington, DC. Though research projects may include travel on occasion. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience. A flexible personality, sense of humor, and positive attitude are important. *Essential Responsibilities and Tasks * · Working as part of a team to produce research reports on government accountability issues · Conducting news, internet, and database searches to inform these reports · Drafting and following up on public records requests, as well as, analyzing results of these requests · Demonstrating issue area expertise in issues affecting government accountability · Clearly reporting research findings to senior staff both orally and in written form · Assisting in strategic planning of research projects · Managing rapid response efforts · Assisting research director in the management of Restore Public Trust researchers and consultants · Other duties as assigned *Required Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Ability * · Bachelor’s degree required; · At least 5 years of research experience.
