Job Title Hybrid Software Engineer Work Location Auburn Hills MI Mandatory Skills Powertrain, HIL, Matlab/Simulink Supported Skills INCA, Intecrio, CAN Job Description Job Summary: * Hybrid Software Engineer is responsible for developing software for hybrids, plug-in hybrids, mild hybrids and electric vehicles, along with verification and validation of the same on the HIL and vehicles. Responsibilities: * Gather and analyze high level requirements and design common software components to be used across various platforms. * Develop controls algorithm using Matlab/Simulink/Stateflow models and generate auto code from them. * Coordinate with HIL team to develop/improve the HIL plant models for better testing capability. * Generate development builds and carry out various testing in vehicles/HIL. * Generate coverage reports for the models to identify dead code or unreachable code and reduce code size. Also improve model designs form testability point of view. * Implement software changes as requested or for a new feature, improve an existing feature or fix bugs/issues encountered in the field/development trips/calibration trips. * Develop and support calibrations activities for various development/calibration test trips. * Develop calibration guide, software design documents, test plans, test report and results, and other artifacts related to the software component. Required Qualifications & Skills: * Masters in Electrical/Mechanical. * Must have 3+ years of experience in Matlab/Simulink/Stateflow/Embedded Coder for electrified powertrain controls related functionalities. * Must have experience in Simulink verification and validation of powertrain hybrid related functionalities. * Must have experience in preparation of DVP&R for HIL/Vehicle testing of powertrain hybrid related functionalities. * Experience in HIL/Vehicle testing of powertrain hybrid related functionalities using tools like INCA and CANalyzer. * Must have powertrain domain understanding in IC engines (gasoline & diesel), hybrid, transmission (AT, DCT, MT), and driveline (4Wd, LSD, AWD, and Center Differential). Also, hybrid electric domain knowledge would be an added advantage. * A well understanding of hybrid system including plug-in hybrids, mild hybrids and electric vehicles. * Valid US driving licenses to perform vehicle testing.
