I did not understand you question properly. Why do use mail merge .You can
create single sheet work book as you salary ship and give password to it
and also mail the password to the concerned person through a text file
attached along with the salary sheet.

copy that slip on mail.
sending you a sample sheet (EMP CODE IS KEY )
WRITE ONLY EMP. CODE THE WHOLE DETAIL U CAN EXTRACT.
