Could use some help, need a refresher! When you add a E2K server into a existing 5.5 site. Are the connection for mail delivery automatically setup? I though they were. Do you have to edit the MTA or IMC connections. IMC is using DNS for delivery. There is only one MX record pointing to the 5.5

When you install Exchange2000 joining an Exchange5.5 site, there is a lot of prep work that would eliminate most of your questions. You don't even mention 'Active Directory Connector'. There is a lot more to know before effectively answering your question as asked. I recommend starting here:
