We have recently installed Exchange Server 2000 (+SP1).

All the contacts of our company (structured in subfolders) were transfered
from Outlook 2000 to public folders in Exchange Server. Thus, the contacts
can now be seen and used by the entire company staff (as required).
However,
we cannot use the contacts public (sub)folders as distribution lists,
although they have been mail-enabled. When we try to send an e-mail to a
specific public (sub)folder, then the e-mail is not distributed to the
contacts contained in the specific public subfolder, but appears as a new
item within the subfloder.

In order to be able to use distribution lists, it has been suggested
that we create distribution groups in Active Directory and that we
transfer
all contacts from public folders to Active Directory in corresponding
Distribution Groups that we create.

How can that be done? If some coding is required, can anyone make a
suggestion?

With best regards,
Panagiotis Konstantinidis
