In light of the recent WTC tragedy, I was wondering if anyone on the list
had lost exchange servers, or were forced into DR by the situation?
How did you handle business continuity, and was there anything that you
learnt that would change your strategy going forward? How long did it take
you to
Scenario:
5 users in the organisation.
1 server for file/print/email
Full Online Exchange backup every night.
Exchange BLB every night also.
Data backup every night.
All backups complete in 3 hours, on 1 tape.
Please explain to me why doing a BLB is bad in this scenario.

obviously have an exception here with only 5 users, but then one would
almost ask why you are running Exchange in the first place with so few
users.

Possible corruption of the store.
Hmmm...
Increased tape drive usage, which will result in a shorter lifespan for
your
tape drive.
Uh huh..
The wrath of the list. :P
List wrath I've got a theory that it's a similar concept to Road Rage.
Because listers don't have to meet each other
Bob, have you read the FAQ? It says this:
4.1 Q: How do I add legalese, footers, or disclaimers to all my messages?
A1: MIMESweeper
A2: MMS http://www.tumbleweed.com/
Doesn't appear to answer the question...

Maybe they're using Windows 9x? On second thoughts, nobody actually logs
off of that - they just crash out...
Seriously, we run scripts to move files that users have placed on their
desktop to their home drive, and replace them with shortcuts - thus lowering
the profile size.

Adil mentions that he has 10MB free on the C: drive. Sounds like a
small office
installation with all data on the server C: drive (I could be wrong).
1. Check/Move Information store to a partition with more space.
2. Move the page file to another partition with more space.
3. Remove
If you have a permanent connection to the Internet with this office/server -
you MUST get a firewall. Corporate data is now at risk 24x7. *When* you
get a firewall, you can set up a VPN.
