Public Folder Items Disappear

I have an E2k(sp2)public folder calendar where I imported about two years worth of calendar items from a user's mailbox several months ago. These items have now begun disappearing without a trace. Recover Deleted Items shows nothing and I confirmed all the rights to the folder and no one other
