Actually, it's not recommended to backup any \exchsrvr folder while any
Exchange services are running.

Subject: Backup exec 8.5 for exchange

Hello All,

I have backup exec 8.5 with exchange client installed on a NT
Server SP6. I would like to know if I have to back up the exchange
directories located under the c drive. Because I have exchange agent
installed and I tell it to back it up Full I should be backing these
directories up allready right. So if I go under selections can I
uncheck the exchsrvr diectory and still backup this IS.

Thanks
Rich

If you are doing an Exchange aware backup Full usually means a full backup
of the database (DS/IS) only, plus flushing out the transaction logs, etc.

Tis not necessary. You should backup the priv, pub, and log files. Flush
the logs when complete preferably with Circular logging disabled.

Subject: Backup exec 8.5 for exchange

Hello All,

I have backup exec 8.5 with exchange client installed on a NT Server
SP6. I would like to know if I have to back up the exchange directories
located under the c drive. Because I have exchange agent installed and I
tell it to back it up Full I should be backing these directories up allready
right. So if I go under selections can I uncheck the exchsrvr diectory and
still backup this IS.

Thanks
Rich

Subject: Backup exec 8.5 for exchange

  Hello All,

I have backup exec 8.5 with exchange client installed
  on a NT Server
SP6. I would like to know if I have to back up the exchange
  directories
located under the c drive. Because I have exchange agent
  installed and I
tell it to back it up Full I should be backing these
  directories up allready
right. So if I go under selections can I uncheck the
  exchsrvr diectory and
  still backup this IS.

  Thanks
  Rich

RE: Backup exec 8.5 for exchange

2001-12-27 Thread Craig Manske

Come on people, do you see the :) at the end of the sentence? It was
sarcasm... I was trying to be humorous, I figured no one would believe such
an outlandish story, obviously I was wrong...

Sorry...

I had a #$%#$% step dad that was like that. One time, the combustive
properties of helium came up in our conversation (don't ask
 me why). He
insisted that helium was a combustible gas. I told him he
 was wrong and
eventually had to break out the Funk Wagnall's to prove it.
  The very
first sentence under Helium stated, of course, that it was, in fact, a
non-combustible gas. His response was (I'll never forget),
 How old is that
 encyclopedia?

 What a moron!
