You are RFC compliant. Earthlink is not RFC compliant and what they are doing clearly not. But that is what they do. AOL used to do it to back in the day when they had a rabid anti spam guy there. He was cool at times, he carried a big stick and when he whacked another ISP for being spam friendly it hurt. Yes, several times through the process of troubleshooting this. There was a point where the firewall was doing esmtp filtering and X’ing out the domain name in the EHLO message; that was corrected. I find it interesting that when you email a company about an issue it can take forever to get a response (never mind a phone message), but when you tweet something, you most often get instant response time.
