RE: Can Anti-virus software scan messages that pass trhough x-400 Connectors ?

2001-12-19 Thread John Matteson

Yes it will, but only if the messages are destined for that server's public
or private store.

AFAIK, there's not a product that will scan mail going through a bridgehead
server using an X.400 connector. (Bridgehead server meaning a server with
only connectors and no user mailboxes.)

Antigen does scan for x400, as far as I know.

1. MTA Scanjob: (On Exchange 2000) Allows scanning of messages
originating and destined to all MTA Connectors, such as,
X.400, MS-RPC (Exchange 5.5 connections), and MSMail.

RE: Can Anti-virus software scan messages that pass trhough x-400 Connectors ?

2001-12-19 Thread J . Beunk

Kelly,

After dropping this message in this discussionlist I found the following
statement at a German MS Exchange FAQ at
http://www.msexchangefaq.de/Konzepte/viren2.htm :

Hmm.. In short: No it's not possible, If a reseller tells you that it IS
possible, be sure to have it in writing so you can ask for a refund if
this feature is not present.

BTW What - Where is MTA Scanjob ?

Greetings,

Jos Beunk
