You have gone over the 2GB limit on a PST. The PST is now broken. You will
need to call Microsoft about getting a fix for it. I think the call is
around $250.
I would also urge you to reevaluate your email management techniques. First,
why are you wasting a money on an Exchange server? If you want to DL your
mail to a PST, you should look at some simple POP/SMTP systems. SLMail is
very good. It costs about 1/10 as much as Exchange. Also if you choose to
use or invoke old and unreliable technologies such as PST files, you should
learn how to deal with them. There are reasons that PST=BAD/
Also this having 2GB of email? I would be curious as to how long you have
been accumulating email. I have yet to run into anybody except perhaps
multimedia folk who truly needed to save that much email.

RE: inbox repair tool

2001-12-27 Thread Couch, Nate

2GB PST = VERY BAD.

I am not aware of any other repair tool besides SCANPST. If the PST cannot
be opened and the user does not have a backup there is not much you can do.
I have seen PSTs with far less get corrupted (and the user did not have a
backup) and the mail was unrecoverable.

The user may get mad, but the only person they can blame is themselves. I
don't care if they are the CEO. The mail is toast.

Dear Sandeep,

First of all, 51% or better of the members of this List Server
believe that PST files are bad. So, you will probably receive a handful of
flame messages. I, however, like PST files and see their purpose in
business.
I would copy the 2 GB PST file to another PC and then run SCANPST
from that PC.

RE: inbox repair tool

2001-12-27 Thread Soysal, Serdar

Maybe he can open the PST in a hex editor, cut and paste half of it to a new
file and divide it in two. Then he'll have two PST files both under 2GB.

Sandeep,
For a useful answer, please go to www.microsoft.com/technet and type My PST
is over 2 GB and click on the Search button. You will get three articles
which tell you exactly how to solve your problem.
