[expert] Problems while logging in with GDM

Dear people,   I have installed Mandrake 8.1 with gdm and gnome. Everything worked very well untill a sudden shutdown last week. Since then I am experiencing the following problem: when I try to login in the system with gdm as root there is no problem but if I try to login in as normal user
