I have qt2-2.2.1 mandrake rpms as well as the stable
Mandrake KDE 2.0 rpms installed. KDE, for the MOST
part, is running OK, though I do get a number of
repeatable crashes with certain apps (KGNUPlot, Control
Center upon closing it, for instance).

On my desktop are icons for my zip drive, hda1, and hdb6.
I can open/browse both hda1 and hdb6 without problem. The
zip drive has setup issues and this doesn't relate to
the problem I am reporting.

If I right-click on any one of these icons and then select
the "properties" entry, there is momentary harddrive activity
followed by nothing. It appears then that kfm is toasted,
locked up, frozen.

If I have a terminal open on the desktop, or kmail, etc, they
are still fine, as is the panel (for the most part...more in a
moment). If I move the open terminal (or window for whatever
app I am running) over the desktop icons, they disappear and
do not reappear. Right-clicking on the desktop fails to
produce a desktop menu. If I go to panel and open the kmenu
and select "logout", nothing happens. The only way I can
get the desktop back is to do a Ctrl-Alt-Bkspc and re-login.

This is repeatable. As I say, I can find no error messages
related to this anywhere. That Dr. Konqui (or whatever it's
name is) does NOT start up to produce debug information.

I have reinstalled qt2.2.1 and kde rpms but this problem
remains.

My system is an Athlon 700, 128 MB RAM, kernel-2.2.17, updated
7.1 system (with a few required 7.2beta rpms as needed to get
KDE 2.0 installed, no dependency problems - at least according
to rpm during installation).
