I am using Mandrake 9.2 (but haven't urpmi kernel yet, I
don't know which one to use).

Many source packages may still want to build against that version, it's
best to leave it installed.
As you read in the autoconf README, most developers will provide for

Hello again,
I haven't done the symlink I suggested before. I am waiting
for your advice.
To illustrate my problems with autoconf:
urpmi automake gives me version 1.4-p6 which was released at
about the same time as 1.6, over one year ago.
I download the source and then:

2.5 is included with at least 9.1 and 9.2. Just 'urpmi autoconf2.5' or use
rpmdrake to install it.

hello,
When I try to install application, compile stuff and so on,
I regularly run into a warning message saying that I should
upgrade autoconf. I have 2.13 and I see here:
http://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/autoconf/
that the autoconf 2.13 is nearly 5 years old!!!
I tried urpme autoconf and then urpmi au

Cool. I seem to remember that happening before. With a little bit of
checking I found it in the autoconf2.

Hello people
I have my setup box mostly setup ;). With all the reinstalling and
updating I've done in the past week, trying to find packages, getting
updates, and so forth, I seem to be missing autoconf again. Now I
remember that there were two divergent versions of autoconf, 2.1.3 (which

A long question with (I hope) a simple answer:
On my LM 8.1 system I have to install a newer version of autoconf. Using
the rpm from rpmfind.net for autoconf 2.53-7, it says that it requires perl
>= 5.6.0. LM 8.1 rpm says that it has perl 5.601-6md

Hi,
I need to compile KDE3 (so that I can apply a friend's source patches).
Please tell me where I can get autoconf 2.52 and automake 1.5. I can't find
them on rpmfind.net and don't want to compile autoconf/automake from source
(if possible).
Thanks,
pesarif
