Hi, If you look at the error message, you will see that it says that it cannot find a name for the address 192.168.0.25. The problem is that there is no proper reverse DNS mapping on the DNS server. If you create a reverse DNS entry for 192.168.0.x, you should be able to run nslookup. For

I am just looking at this as part of checking everything on the new 7.2 install is working. On 7.1, I set the cacheing DNS up from scratch and nslookup was fine. The question is, how can I reliably confirm that cacheing DNS is working? The stats are a bit obtuse and I have not been able to

i installed the caching dns server on mandrake 7.2, it works fine one that box, and on other windows boxes, but when i put the ip of the dns server in resolv.conf on another linux box and try to run nslookup i get this error message, nslookup *** Can't find server name for address
