carn't be intalled/uninstalled when trying to remove some packages I don't

I remember a thread in which i had this problem,
but not when.
Anyway i fixed the problem with
alsamixer then did a service alsa restart
to make sure it worked.
Before knowing this I had a workaround i.e. putting
a script into ~/.kde/Autostart directory with
aumix -L to use my default value.

From my past experience with Cyrus-imap on SuSE Linux and from reading

That is is the problem. I have the smp kernel running and when you try
to build the kernel, it complains that it did not match with the kenerl
version. It is looking at the kenerl without the smp tacked on. The
version information is correct but no smp version.

The problem is that the smp is tacked on the end under uname -r. It will
not recognize it because of that.

Just go to your kernel source tree (/usr/src/linux)
and do:
#make mrproper
#cp arch/i386/defconfig-smp .config
#make

not insmod the emu10k1 device, or couldn't find it. I
attempted to insmod it manually and got a list of
unresolved symbols.
Next, instaled multimedia kernel,
