​The Sound of SilenceA Piano Concert by Werner Elmker Danish concert pianist 
and composer Werner Elmker will present a solo performance at the Sondheim 
Center on Thursday, November 5 at 7:30 pm. Increasingly known in recent years 
for his magical photos and videos of Fairfield life and nature, Werner is also 
a magician on the piano, allowing the instrument to communicate in ​the 
​l​anguage of ​f​eeling. His music cultivates a rich inner experience of 
silence for the audience, as ​one concertgoer experienced: “Your sound has a 
special quality of silence, no matter how loud or soft you are playing. It is 
cumulative. The silence gets deeper and deeper, and I notice the whole audience 
sinks into it together, so that by the end, no one can move or speak. The 
silence is so tangible, you can cut it with a knife!” This recital offers a 
​compelling selection of classical, popular and traditional melodies​ as well
