Rick, what you stated is correct - we should not charge anything for Amma's meditation technique. However, to cover the costs such as hall rental and other incidental expenses, the participants may be asked to contribute a small amount.
We had a meditation course in Toronto in January 2004. These guidelines were followed. We are planning to have another opportunity for people to take the course in the near future and it is not our intention to charge anything other than the same sort of minor amount to cover incidentals.
Your informant must be referring to something else when he talks about a charge of $250 for the meditation course. Do you know when this person took the course?
