Subject: Important election update!

I was just updated earlier tonight on 2 new points on this important
upcoming fairfield election:

if republican stephen burgmeier (who owns a CAFO and is a close friend of
the environmentally destructive iowa farm bureau, and who is NOT a friend of
the iowa DNR - department of natural resources - which safeguards the
environment) wins this race, his seat on the jefferson county board of
supervisors will very likely be determined by (and chosen from among) other
cafo-supporting republicans

so a loss for hanson would be a double loss for the fairfield and district
90 environment

the second point is that republicans and more extreme conservatives have
targeted this iowa state house race as a must win race for them, and as
such, have poured a lot of money in support of burgmeier's campaign over the
last week

so the race is going to be extremely close and seriously needs every
possible vote

so remember to make the time to vote sometime between today (monday) and
election day tuesday

on monday, anyone can go vote at the jefferson county courthouse throughout
the business day (9-5 i think, but lunch will likely be pretty busy, and so
allow for more time then) - note: if you have previously requested an
absentee ballot, you need to use that form - and either mail it in or hand
it in at the courthouse - please make sure that you DO!

otherwise, on tuesday sept 1st, you can vote as usual at your local polling
place, which varies by your address (but is very likely the exact same as
your last voting location)

so please make sure that your voice is heard in this important election,
and strongly consider voting for the environment by voting for Curt Hanson
for iowa house (the only ballot decision in this special election)

and also tell and bring along all your registered friends - your vote is
very much needed!
