Drinking too much water can kill you. It strains the
kidneys, decreases the salinity in blood, which makes it
difficult for the kidneys to excrete the water out.

It leads to life threatening condition.

Was what I wrote unclear to you? Or is this your usual reality-avoidance

forum or a journalistic one or that you were anything but another poster.

I think I read this in the book You're Not Sick You're Thirsty.

And that's your some people in the health care industry?? A book by a quack?

It was first published many years ago so I'm not surprised that new findings
are available.

And heaven forbid you check to see whether there are new findings rather than
spewing out the old ones. Just too much bother, says Share to herself.
Instead I'll cite some people in the health care industry to make myself
sound all authoritative and all.

I notice you carefully deleted what I said about the new findings, along with
the URL to a story about them. Think you could be just a little bit more
dishonest, Share?

Sorry to spoil your ploy, but here's what you deleted again:

As it happens, I'm challenging you. Recent studies in the British Medical
Journal appear to show that the notion that if you're thirsty, you're already
dehydrated, is false. Thirst (as one might expect on the basis of common sense)
turns out to be a finely sensitive mechanism for determining one's degree of
hydration. It seems that the meme you repeat was started by the manufacturers
of sports drinks (GatorAde, etc.) in an attempt to increase sales, and has now
become common wisdom. Except that it's wrong:

Not true Share.  I commented independently, based on my objective observations
of your posts that I read this morning in email; posts come out of order,
remember and can be time-delayed?  Obba has had a hard time with this, but it
is the way it is these days.  Don't assume.  Now, what is the opposite of
self-righteousness?

That would be your *actual *count. The 10 emails without the handle
weren't getting counted. This may be happening with the PHP script Alex
runs too. Probably needs a slight change but looking at the email
source file it looks like Yahoo may have added a profile variable I can
try reading which would make things even easier.

[FairfieldLife] Derek on Netflix

2013-09-13 Thread Bhairitu
If you're a fan of Ricky Gervais you'll probably like Derek which
debuted last night on Netflix WI. Not sure if it played before on the
UK's Channel 4 since it's their production but a Netflix Original.
Gervais plays a nursing home caretaker who only sees good in everyone.
I watched the first two episodes last night and all 7 are available.

As for becoming what one puts one's attention on, I'd
credit that to the New Age!

So, you're thinking that Turq's spiritual path comes from
'New Age' teachings? Wow! You sure put him in his place.

  Good work!

Now that we've got that issue settled - where do you think
we get that spiritual teaching that says 'you are what you
were'?

I think it comes from the Upanishads in India - 'karma' -
actions and the results of actions. All Hindus and Buddhists
believe that your actions in this life are the result of your past
actions.

Another New Age saying from California:

You are what you eat. - Dr. Pietro Rotundi

Share, relax and enjoy that glass. No more forcing water down those pipes in

Some say he found the fountain of youth, but he
didn't drink because he was not thirsty.

He lives vicariously - through himself.

He can speak French - in Russian.

When in Rome, they do as he does.

He can tell insider jokes to perfect strangers.

In a past life, he was himself.

He is - the most interesting man in the world.

[FairfieldLife] Rules for Iowa

2013-09-13 Thread punditster
Maybe it's time to review some of the rules for Iowa.

Rules for Iowa

This list of rules should be handed to each person as they enter the State of
Iowa:

1. That slope-shouldered farm boy did more work before breakfast than you'll do
all week at the gym. He doesn't need your respect, but he sure deserves it.

2. It's called a 'gravel road.' No matter how slow you drive, you're going to
get dust on your BMW. I have a four-wheel drive because I need it. Drive one or
get your girlie-car out of the way.

3. We all started hunting and fishing when we were nine years old. Yeah, we
shot Bambi; we got over it.

4. Any references to corn fed when talking about our women will get your butt
kicked...by our women.

5. Go ahead and bring your $600 Orvis Fly Rod. Don't cry to us if a flathead
breaks it off at the handle. We have a name for that little 13-inch trout you
fish for ...bait.

6. Pull your pants up. You look like an idiot.

7. If that cell phone rings while a bunch of mallards are making their final
approach, we will shoot it. You might hope you don't have it up to your ear at
the time.

8. That's right. Whiskey is only two bucks. We can buy a fifth for what you
paid in the airport.

9. The Hawkeyes and the Cyclones are as important here as the Lakers and the
Knicks...and a dang sight more fun to watch.

10. No, there's no Vegetarian Special on the menu. Order steak. Order it
rare. Or, you can order the Chef's Salad and pick off the two pounds of ham and
turkey.

11. You bring Coke into my house, it better be brown, wet, and served over ice.

12. So you have a sixty thousand dollar car. We're real impressed. We have a
quarter of a million dollar combine that we drive two weeks a year.

13. Let's get this straight. We have one stoplight in town. We stop when it's
red. We may even stop when it's yellow.

14. Our women hunt, fish, and drive trucks-because they want to. So, you're a
feminist. Isn't that cute.

15. Yeah, we eat catfish-carp, too-and turtle. You really want sushi and
caviar? It's available at the bait shop.

16. They are hogs. That's what they smell like. Get over it. Don't like it?
Interstate 80 goes two ways - I-35 goes the other two. Pick one.

17. The Opener refers to the first day of pheasant season. It's a religious
holiday.

18. Yeah, we have sweet tea. It comes in a glass with two packets of sugar and
a long spoon.

19. So every person in every pick-up waves. It's called being friendly. Try to
understand the concept.

20. Yeah, we have golf courses. Don't hit in the water hazards. It spooks the
fish.

21. Pull your pants up. You look like an idiot.

Now, enjoy your visit to Iowa. Oh, and one last thought The s on the end
of Des Moines is silent.
