Empty, I don't think you, of all people, are in a position to tell anyone what they *need* to do. But it does sound like you're *in tune* with the TMO. I never tell someone what to do in their spiritual life. However I do ask pointed questions - although I temper them according to the depth of someone's faith. Notice that I said faith ... not belief. You sound like a Yogananda-style practitioner - seeing Christian claims in the Hindoo scriptures. That would be anathema to most Christian traditions. I work with a newbie protestant Christian who was recently baptized. He is all belief without much knowledge - which he admits. Now he only listens to Christian rock and protestant sermons. At some point I will show him the Nicene creed which is what Christians profess (those who don't make it up). Then the question is do you profess this also? Nicene Creed (from the Orthodox Church in America) I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of Heaven and Earth and of all things visible and invisible. And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the only-begotten, begotten of the Father before all ages. Light of light; true God of true God; begotten, not made; of one essence with the Father, by Whom all things were made; Who for us men and for our salvation came down from Heaven, and was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary, and became man. And He was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate, and suffered, and was buried. And the third day He arose again, according to the Scriptures, and ascended into Heaven, and sits at the right hand of the Father; and He shall come again with glory to judge the living and the dead; Whose Kingdom shall have no end. And in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the Giver of Life, Who proceeds from the Father; Who with the Father and the Son together is worshiped and glorified; Who spoke by the prophets. In one Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church. I acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins. I look for the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen. Note that the Orthodox versions always started with I believe ... rather than We believe ... since this profession of faith is personal first, not merely communal.
Re: [FairfieldLife] Re: shnita my apologies
When I speak of dharma and adharma, that is a perspective from which people that have followed M's teachings can appreciate, regardless of whether they perceive it is a *Hindu* concept or a universal principal. M comments on Krishna in the Gita as saying it better to live and die in one's own dharma than that of another. When M first began his teaching, he said it was not necessary to change ones religion, that TM would make a Christian a better Christian ,a Hindu, a better Hindu. etc. This would be in keeping with dharma because ones dharma is dictated at birth. When I say America has become adharmic, it is from that perspective that we as TMers have the ability to understand. From a more Christian perspective, one would say, America has become apostate. From either perspective, the results are the same, downward turn in the society. There are certain commonalities we can agree on but each teaching has it's own way of expressing them. Personally, I have no problem with TM as a tool. Christ said, everyone must carry his own cross. One could take that as observing one's own dharma. TM is like adding wheels to make the weight a little more bearable, do less and accomplish more. As for recognizing Christian doctrine, that is man made. As I said earlier, it's not the accepting of Christianity, the doctrine, that is important, it's the personal relationship one has with Christ and that begins with accepting Him as lord and savior. Then all things are possible. Re: [FairfieldLife] Re: Stockin' Up? soon 4 a GREAT opportunity to BUY low hold many great companies R a bargen!
WL, It'll take a few days for investors to figure out what's happening in the stock market. Expectations in the market were obviously flawed and a pipe dream. At first glance, it is apparent that the Fed's policy to keep the interest low was not working. IMO, the policy made the people to take their money out of their bank accounts to get better return of their investment in the stock market. The change in investment strategy caused a temporary bubble in the stock market, until the people realized that American companies are not making money as expected. Coupled with the economic problems in China, the market was primed for a major fall which happened last week and the bloodletting is still going on--of which the economic pundits are clueless to know when it will end. ---In FairfieldLife@yahoogroups.com, WLeed3@... wrote : In a few days or even next week GREAT opportunity to BUY, Buy of fear sell high EXCELLENT again cash is KING! -Original Message- From: jr_esq@... [FairfieldLife] Re: A [TM] Biography of Charlie Lutes and Helen Lutes:
Being forwarded around meditating Fairfield.. Subject: Charlie Lutes 'Meditation' Lecture Hello People, here is a pleasant surprise. Someone sent XO a printout of one of Charlies lecture. If any of you have that book Vince J. Daczynski printed, it is entitled 108 Inspiration Lectures Go to page that has lecture = Meditation (4/12/85) or go here - http://www.maharishiphotos. com/lecture106.html http://www.maharishiphotos.com/lecture106.html So here is a sweet mystery. A 'friend of Charlie Lutes' has a print-out of that lecture with another extra page! Who? XO got a copy photocopied at the library and sent me a copy. So I did the OCR program that scans pages and made them to txt and added them for your enjoyment. XO sent me on a mission and the mission is accomplished. She and I have differing theories why the mystery page was edited out to Vince's book version. But now I sent it to you. Enjoy Give me your feedback about the extra page. -XY Meditation (4/12/85) Meditation is the technique or practice used to raise one up from a mundane to a cosmic status. It is the means of going within oneself and reversing oneself on the wheel of birth and death and, in due time, spinning off of the wheel and becoming liberated. This is done by raising the body up to a state of purification and this is not easy, or an overnight process. This calls for a dedication and devotion that is second to none that one, in their trek through life, has ever encountered, or will ever encounter in the future. One is entitled to this privilege only because their karma decrees it; in other words, they have earned the right to come to Transcendental Meditation. Yet again, they may not have earned the right to continue through in this life. However, whatever progress they have made they will not lose. The path to spirituality is not an easy path as most expect it to be because the nervous system, which is the key, has to be purified. For most of us this is not easy or pleasant. When one starts the regular practice of meditation, one sets up a high vibration in the nervous system and this starts the unstressing in the body and in the mind. The nervous system is so sensitive that anything of an unnatural nature that impinges itself upon the nervous system impacts the nervous system and lowers the vibration in the body. The more the nervous system is stressed, the more it is impacted. Then, when one starts to meditate, one enjoys the good karma one has accumulated. However, when this runs out, be it in a day or in a couple of years, the unstressing starts. This may be just uncomfortable, or it may be extreme and nearly unbearable. But, if one has his sight on the goal, one will go through whatever is necessary in order to reach the goal. Whatever the case may be, it has to be handled individually and not by rote. It is like playing a tape, for whatever is on the tape will play out until it is finished no matter what is on the tape. Then, when one tape is finished another one starts, and so forth. It is true that if one was a thief and they started to meditate they would for some time be a better thief until this proclivity was burned out. It is no different than a child who is caked with mud and is being bathed and scrubbed. He doesn’t care for the bath or the scrubbing, but it is the end result that counts. It is the human that is a unit of energy, a transmitting station for solar fire; a radiation that stems from the heart of the sun which evolves all living things that come in contact with it. In the human, who is the highest expression of God on earth, it is the vagus or tenth cranial nerve that is the most receptive to this solar fire or energy, the spiritual fire coming down, the fire of the macrocosm. This fire energizes humans and uses them to express the qualities of love and wisdom. There also is a fire by friction in the center of the earth called the kundalini fire. The human is the focal point of these two fires or forces which play through him and activate his seven centers of light. The kundalini is a negatively charged energy which is activated by the positively charged energy, the spiritual fire, which is located in the central spiritual sun. It is said that at a propitious time kundalini hears the call of her mate and rises from her cave in the base of the human spine to meet him. The kundalini fire is aroused as a final step in one's spiritual development, and it can only travel up a clear, pure channel, activating the chakras as it goes. While this is happening, the latent powers within one are also coming into full expression in a natural way. It is the way that one through many rebirths, and now rapidly through meditation, moves from mortality to immortality. We are now entering the Age of Aquarius, an age which will feature group expression, group meditation, an age of spirituality, an age of spiritual science, and so forth. The Age of

The Dow Jones Industrial Average lost about 6 percent last week. That puts the benchmark index about 10 percent below its record high on May 19, 2015, according to Barron’s. A drop of that magnitude from a new high may be a correction – a brief but jarring drop in value that often causes investors to reassess the state of the market and the health of the companies they hold. If investors judge markets and holdings to be sound, a correction may represent a buying opportunity. Of course, there is a chance markets could fall further. A drop of 20 percent or more is considered a bear market. The Standard Poor’s 500 Index lost about the same amount as the Dow last week and is down almost 8 percent from its May high. Technically, it’s not yet in correction territory. A dip greater than 5 percent and less than 10 percent is a pullback. Many factors contributed to U.S. stock markets’ performance last week. Concerns about global recovery were top of mind for many investors. China’s slowdown may significantly reduce demand for commodities, and emerging markets that are dependent on commodity exports are struggling. CNN Money reported: “China's economic slowdown and currency devaluation have investors worried that things could get worse as the year goes on. Developing countries like Brazil and Russia are struggling to revive their economies as their currencies depreciate dramatically against the dollar. Brazil's currency value has declined over 20 percent and Russia's over 40 percent, hurting imports and everyday citizens. It's also a huge worry for America's biggest companies. About 44 percent of the revenues from SP 500 companies come from outside the United States.” Currency depreciation (not to be confused with devaluation, which is a government’s deliberate downward adjustment in currency value) is market-driven and sometimes causes investors to pull assets out of a country, which can put more pressure on the currency. Uncertainty about the timing of a rate hike in America didn’t help matters. CNBC reported, after the minutes of the July Federal Open Market Committee meeting were released last week and indicated “almost all members” had some concerns about the strength of U.S. economic growth, the CME FedWatch barometer put the likelihood of a September increase at 24 percent – a 45 percent drop from the prior day. The fools delayed the inevitable in 2008 and they tried to delay things by printing money. Time for a reboot. There are many ways this can go but it was inevitable that something had to give. Whether this is the time or it gets temporarily resolved until next year time will tell. But it is a pattern that has to play out. What would you want? The same ol' same ol' inequality? Those who have investments in the market can lose or win depending upon their timing and their position but when whole markets are effected everything is effected from gas prices, to food prices to the cost of real estate. Nothing is exempt. Ann, Here's how today's debacle compares to the other years. It's not as bad compared to the crash in 1987. The rich are the most effected this time around. The middle class and poor don't have much of anything in the markets. It would be good if the playing field got leveled and the inequity would go away. Yeah the rich may try to stick their gambling losses to us and I suggest we fight back as we have nothing to lose. May you live in interesting times. [FairfieldLife] Is the Universe Fading Away Slowly?
Not necessarily. That's just one of the theories of how the universe will end. There's one theory similar to the Big Rip which states that the galaxies at the edge of the universe will eventually reach the speed of light and will disappear from our observable horizon. At the speed of light, the activity of those galaxies will freeze and time will stop for anyone or anything in it. For all practical purpose, those galaxies will have turned into light. Using the ideas from Roger Penrose, it is possible that the universe will once again explode into another Big Bang eons after all of the universe have gained the speed of light or have turned into light. https://cosmosmagazine.com/space/universe-slowly-fading-away https://cosmosmagazine.com/space/universe-slowly-fading-away

Re: [FairfieldLife] Re: Stockin' Up?
The rich are always going to be rich, relatively. What you will find this time, as last time, is middle income and poor will lose everything. Pensions will be wiped out along with jobs. There may not be enough people working to pay for social programs to take up the slack. Meanwhile the rich hide their money.
