That is good, Salyavin. On FFL we should call this Salyavin’s Theorem on
Spirituality,: “That none of it actually works.”

Theorem: a general proposition not self-evident but proved by a chain of
reasoning.

Re: [FairfieldLife] Re: TM Originalists v Progressive Practitioners, The TM Movement Community

2016-03-10 Thread dhamiltony...@yahoo.com [FairfieldLife]
A large variable in a survival of spiritual groups is in the balance of work
facilitating the spiritual practice which the group does. Historically, groups
can flag where they drop away from their core spiritual practice for all the
work of keeping a group going. The end becomes nearer and a liquidation more
close at hand once the spiritual practice gets sacrificed in the communal work
of just keeping a group’s institutions up in time.

You can see this happening in the stalwarts who remain behind. What was
promised as 30 hour work weeks with time well apportioned for meditating
becomes 60 or 70 hour weekly marathons just to keep the place open for those
who remain. It is a cycle that breaks people and groups.

---In FairfieldLife@yahoogroups.com, wrote :

Decline in historic spiritual community usually is a quiet implosion as their
circumstances of spiritual practice may drop. As particular personality of
declines do happen to spiritual practice groups in history like ours it often
ends with an auction of assets. Whence the spiritual shakti is gone and enough
members have moved on to other places in time a liquidation of what was becomes
the inevitable. TM evidently is down a road to this. It will take some
extraordinary leadership to turn the desertion of what has been a long tide of
people going away.

---In FairfieldLife@yahoogroups.com, wrote :

An ideologic movement culture dismisses looking around, saying “The past

metrics are not good for TM right now. I wish them well and hope they can
survive.

The leadership apparently is pretty isolated and can be ideologic rigid.
Their own metric is that they have turned a lot of meditators out who are not
just going to come back. This all will take a coming out with some
extraordinary human resources of leadership to calmly engage the problems and
pull it out of decline.

here who live here in Fairfield and the larger meditating community. A lot of
people who live here are affected by the way people behave up in the movement
there. Everyone living here should be interested in how it is going up there.

All the economic development agencies should be sitting up (the Chamber of

The guidelines for the Dome meditation could be much streamlined down to what
it essentially takes to administrate a course. It is fair that there be
guidelines for the running of any organization, meeting or course. But these
go beyond practicality.

---In FairfieldLife@yahoogroups.com, wrote :

The movement’s guidelines as they exist essentially are tools of retribution

It will take some large leadership to change that. Their problem now is that
this has gone on so long and the hurt enough that people have gone on, don’t
care, and will not come back. It would take a large mediation to turn this
around and have meditators come back to the Domes.

business of the minds of some people in charge of the movement that has long
thwarted the group meditation. It is a cultural problem deep inside TM.

Generally this last week here in FF has featured movement lecturers in a series
like this trying to appeal to the old meditating community that lives here, but
a community which has little formal relationship to the movement anymore. It
seems as when the Prime Minister returned from his travels recently, a little
under the gun with his performance generally and found the Dome numbers
profoundly low, management being chronically isolated and doesn’t meditate with
the large group anyway, the larger management took a look at their problem
with the meditating community here a little more and came up with embarking on
this lectureship counter offensive on the meditating community to try to win it
back.

Hagelin’s talk was to a packed room. It was fun, he is fun. He is a good
lecturer/teacher/professor. It was a prepared lecture presentation with really
good powerpoint slide graphics. Went through Einstein and came forward to the
present gravitational fields. Was personable and very well taught.

A lot of the old community here came out for it. I don’t think it was
recorded on video. He’ll probably record something later. He had some really
funny quips throughout that were inside jokes with us as a community

A remarkable note about this scheduled lecture was that people did not need a
Dome badge at all to get in. In fact the presentation was advertised widely
through local media for anyone to come. Someone went through the local
factories and put up posters too. It was mostly ‘rus who came. I did see one
factory tough there.

[FairfieldLife] Re: Fabric of the Cosmos

2016-03-10 Thread jr_...@yahoo.com [FairfieldLife]
In one of Dr. Susskind's video lectures at Stanford University, he included the
potential effects of the recent discovery of the ever increasing expansion of
the universe. He mentioned that, at some point, the galaxies at the edge of
the universe will disappear from our vantage point or reference point. Why?

Because those galaxies will eventually reach the speed of light. Hence, the
light from them will never reach us because they're traveling at the speed of
light. He also implied that everything and all activities, including time, in
those galaxies will freeze according to Einstein's theory of relativity.

He seemed to be implying that this is how the universe will eventually end.
Everything, therefore, is stored in light in a two dimensional plane at the
edge of the universe. And, according to Einstein's theory, there is nothing in
the universe that exceeds the speed of light.

 What do you think?

Leonard Susskind states that all information of the universe are stored in a
two dimensional plane at the edge of the universe and projected in three
dimension inside the universe. This idea comes from the recent theory of black
holes which store information in a similar way.

He may be able to show the mathematics supporting his theory. But how is he
or anyone be able to prove it in actual operation in the universe using the
scientific method?
