2. St. Patrick's Day Celebrations Thursday and Sunday As you may know St. Patrick's Day is March 17, and you are warmly invited to join us in celebrating this Thursday and Sunday. On Thursday we have Tim Britton in the Cosmic Cafe at 7:30. Tim is a nationally acclaimed Irish Bagpiper and recording artist. On hearing Tim on his Irish Bagpipes, Scottish bagpipes, flute, Irish tin whistle or vocals, students often say that he has thrilled their soul profoundly. All cultures seem to love his pure Irish melodies as if it was their own cultural music. Don't miss this event! On Sunday (March,18) to perform for our annual Irish Party we have collected the best Irish musicians, and our lively Irish dancers Kirsi Marcus, Anna Bruen, Puki Freeberg and Mary Long. Columbia recording artist Rick Stanley plays Celtic harp, guitar, banjo and vocals. Claudine plays the Boldrum, a traditional Irish Drum, and will accompany the MoonCoin Irish Band for a variety of upbeat melodies. Also included will the double fiddle of Ann Boswald and her Son Donavan along with special Irish Story teller Tracy Chipman. Traditional sweet Irish soda bread and jam with be served with Irish Chai. Toe tapping & wonderful our St Patrick's celebration is always a packed house in the Cafe, so come early ! ! ! These events are free for M.U.M. Students, Staff and Faculty.
