Some friends rented it a year ago when I was vacationing with them. We ripped it apart. You get the impression that the phrase "Jesus died for your sins" was really aimed at the group that voted for his death. No there is nothing much spiritual about this film. I saw "Serenity" this last week since I enjoyed the Firefly series on DVD. It is not a particularly great movie as the director is still in TV phase and overstated stuff a bit but still worth a see. I also rented "Inside Deep Throat" (not for the bliss ninny set) and thought it was an excellent documentary that explores the sexual attitudes of the 1970's. Did anyone see it? I resisted it all this time, but to use up the last prepaid credits at a Paris DVD-rental place, I rented it and am watching it now. My first impression, about 20 minutes into it, is that I should have rented something better, like "Plan 9 from Outer Space."
