Some questions have arisen over the past couple of days with regards to the beeja mantras. They are not the mantras that the pandits use in the planetary yaygyas. Planetary yagyas are called graha shantis. The mantras used in these are of 2 kinds, Vedic or tantric, and as a rule they tend to be much longer than the beejas. Depending on the size of yagya you have performed for yourself the pandits can chant up to 151,000 repetitions of the mantra for the particular planet you are having the yagya done. The beejas are as an aid and an exercise for one’s own self not a substitute for yagyas properly performed by pandits trained from childhood in their performance on our behalf.
