More encouraging! Stay careful!
June 11, 2020 Dear Members of the MIU Community: We will continue to keep you updated on the latest situation regarding COVID-19 on our campus. As we previously advised on June 1, widespread testing has identified several workers who work on campus, but who reside off-campus, who tested positive for COVID-19 over the last month. While the total number of cases has increased a bit, all those who have tested positive are either without symptoms, are recovering, or have recovered.. They have all been in isolation in their off-campus residences, and will not be permitted to return to campus until they are without symptoms for 14 days, and have had a subsequent negative COVID test. No campus residents have tested positive for COVID-19 to date. All those in the affected worker units, whether or not having symptoms, have been tested, and regular retests are being administered. Any testing positive are placed in isolation. The State of Iowa, while holding steady, is still hovering near its assumed peak — so this is not the time to let our guard down. We therefore encourage everyone on the MIU Campus to remain vigilant, to practice social distancing, and to wear face coverings while in public. Since June 1, masks have been required in the Argiro Student Center and in all major administrative and academic buildings. We continue to urge campus residents to stay on campus and avoid going into town as much as possible. We are closely monitoring the situation in Fairfield and across Iowa, and will continue to make adjustments to our policies in order to ensure the safety of our MIU community. With best wishes, President Hagelin This message was sent to iggysdaugh...@yahoo.com <mailto:iggysdaugh...@yahoo.com> from Maharishi International University, 1000 North 4th Street, Fairfield, IA 52557 United States.
