Actually the AZ state version of the law is much more protective of individual liberties than the federal law. The feds can stop and ask anybody for proof of legal status, where as the state law only allows such questioning after being stopped for another violation and failure to provide proper identification like a drivers license or the person provides a Mexican drivers license or ID. I noticed yesterday that those in charge of circulating a petition, I believe for the repeal of the new AZ law, had to drop it due to a lack of interest.
