vs. form-ism, the battling clearly continues on. From generation to generation it is transcendentalists providing the spiritual commentary and antidote to materialism. I am seeing this generational attending happening right now here in the Millennial Center, in downtown Detroit even tonight. Ammachi is in Detroit having public programs and a several day retreat this week. (amma.org ) Yesterday at the public darshan program here in Detroit you could see quite a large flow of Gen-X coming in with their small kids. It was spectacular to see their colorful diversity in seeming ‘spiritual but not religious’ demographic. A Transcendentalism coupling with the new culture of rapid media in the post-modern evidently is outflanking religious formalism in an undoing of church-attending America. There seems generational changes fast upon this. It is getting clear the baby-boomer is clocking out. The WWII generation is mostly gone. Gen-X is having families and millennials getting their education are coming along. ---In FairfieldLife@yahoogroups.com,wrote : Transcendentalism, of that unified field transcendent described variously in culture (for instance..): Any time your consciousness is attuned to divine realization, Christ will take birth anew in the cradle of your awakened soul perceptions. We have within us the pattern of perfection and the ability to bring it into manifestation. Today, and every day, have the opportunity to be God the Unified Field manifest in expression. By fully being all who you are, demonstrate the Unified Field Transcendent in our own unique ways. Offer love and kindness, peace and acceptance to others as a saint. Act with honor and integrity and live a joyous and fulfilling life. We are made in the image and likeness of the God Field the Transcendent Unified Field, a living expression of Natural Law here to express, as fully, a divine nature of Being. Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Unified Field incarnate within you, which you have from from the Transcendent?—1 Corinthians 6:19 Jai Gurus Dev. Paraphrasing from Daily Word, -Buck BLESS THIS GLORIOUS PLANET AND ALL THAT LIVE UPON IT. In Genesis we read, “In the beginning, of the Unified Field came the heavens and the earth … Then in vibration the Unified Field Transcendent felt, ‘Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land’ … in Self-referral the Unified Field saw all that it had made in natural law, and it was very good.” Today we express our deep gratitude to the Unified Field Transcendent for this planet and all its glory. To show our appreciation, we take care of our earthly home, start to garden, plant a tree, or pick up garbage around our community, enjoy a walk in nature or meditate at sunrise and at sunset. We bless the Earth by caring for it and respecting its delicate balance, which allows all life to coexist in harmony and flourish in abundance. Jai Guru Dev. This Easter, rejoice in Jesus Christ for demonstrating that no worldly tomb can imprison the living, loving, eternal Unified Field. No matter what the circumstances, the resurrecting power of the Unified Field within restores and uplifts us. Thank you, Jesus Christ, for showing us the way to resurrection. Paraphrasing the Daily Word, -Buck in the Dome I am the resurrection and the life.—John 11:25 Good Friday signifies the day on which Jesus was crucified and laid in the tomb. It symbolizes the process of transformation followed by resurrection. One can see it as a time for Being in the Unified Field transcendent and enter into a higher state of consciousness as we release what no longer serves our spirit. This day we prepare for our own transformation as we enter the Silence of our Meditation. In this sacred space we go beyond anything separating us from that love of the Unified Field. At meditation in the Unified Field Transcendent, we reawaken to spiritual nature and become one with the light and life of that the indwelling Christ. One with the Christ of the Unified Field and our Being. Paraphrasing the Daily Word, -Buck in the Dome Now there was a garden in the place where he was crucified, and in the garden there was a new tomb in which no one had ever been laid.—John 19:41 My soul, be on guard; Ten thousand foes arise; The hosts of sin are pressing hard To draw thee from the skies. Om watch and meditate; The battle ne'er give o'er; Re-new it boldly ev'ry day, And help the Unified Field implore. Om watch and fight and meditate; The battle ne'er give o'er; Re-new it boldly ev'ry day, And help the Unified Field implore. Ne'er think the vic-t'ry won, Nor lay thine armor down; Thy arduous work will not be done Till thou obtain thy crown. Fight on, my soul, Till death shall bring thee home; It'll take thee, At thy parting breath, To merge in the abode of the Unified Field. -Old 1781 George Heath paraphrase When in need of guidance, go directly to the source of wisdom, the Unified Field Transcendent. Close the eyes and go into the Self. Gently release the chatter in the mind, letting thoughts drift away like faint clouds sweeping across a blue sky. Settling into this silent place of peace, find the all-knowing self-referral of the Unified Field. Recognize its wisdom as an inner knowing and feeling of peace in renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the will of the Unified Field -what is good and acceptable and perfect. -Paraphrasing from Daily Word Jai Guru Dev, -Buck Welcome all ye friends of the Transcendent, Welcome to the meditation. BLESS THIS GLORIOUS PLANET AND ALL THAT LIVE UPON IT. Relevant studies excluded from AHRQ findings Robert Schneider, M.D., F.A.C.C., is one of the leading researchers on the health effects of meditation in the nation. Dr. Schneider has been the recipient of more than $22 million in grants from the National Institutes of Health over the past 20 years for his research on the effects of the Transcendental Meditation technique and natural medicine on cardiovascular disease. He says that relevant findings were excluded from the report, including peer-reviewed studies on the effects of this meditation technique on hypertension, cardiovascular disease, myocardial ischemia, atherosclerosis, changes to physiology, and improvements to mental and physical health. Dr. Schneider cited two studies published in the American Journal of Cardiology in 2005, which demonstrated that individuals with high blood pressure who were randomly assigned to TM groups had a 30% lower risk for mortality than controls. These studies should have been included in the AHRQ report, Dr. Schneider said, but were inexplicably excluded. In addition, 75 published studies were overlooked, even though these were sent to the authors by one of the reviewers. Dr. Schneider said the AHRQ report incorrectly analyzed studies and incorrectly rated the quality of the studies while applying statistical methods poorly, arbitrarily, and unsystematically. The report also included errors in collecting data from research studies, in recording data from papers, and in classifying studies. Several peer-reviewers pointed out major errors and inadequacies in the report prior to publication. However, these critiques by outside reviewers were largely ignored. (For critiques of the report, see http://www.mum.edu/inmp/welcome.html) Dr. Schneider also cited a study published in the American medical Association's journal Archives of Internal Medicine in 2006—one year after the AHRQ review ended in 2005—which confirmed that the Transcendental Meditation technique lowers high blood pressure in heart disease patients. The study was conducted at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles and was funded by a $1.2 million grant from the National Institutes of Health. Re: [FairfieldLife] Re: In Transcendentalism,
Um, Michael? The article is citing people critical of the AHRQ review which found hat meditation doesn't work. Note that the review found that NO meditation practice worked, not just TM. So the question arises: did you mean to cite teh AHRQ review as being definitive, or did you mean to cite the people who were critical of the review, since that is the main point of the article: people disagree with the review. It is curious that Michael quoted this in the manner he did, I think he misread its significance. The study, if I recall correctly, came to the conclusion that the studies on meditation, so far, were of insufficient quality to come to the conclusion that meditation was a benefit to health. Various TM practising scientists, like Vernon Barnes (who was a TM-Sidhi administrator at one point, I believe), were rather vocal in condemning the report. Also the TM practising scientists not at MUM who were quoted in various venues criticising the report often did not reveal their connexion to the TM org. I found the report rather interesting. The report was commissioned by the US government and produced by the University of Alberta The conclusion of the report was: 'Scientific research on meditation practices does not appear to have a common theoretical perspective and is characterized by poor methodological quality. Firm conclusions on the effects of meditation practices in healthcare cannot be drawn based on the available evidence. Future research on meditation practices must be more rigorous in the design and execution of studies and in the analysis and reporting of results.' So the basic conclusion is better quality studies with larger population samples is needed to define health benefits of meditation. I have attached the full report to this post. I finally found it as its original location on the Internet had changed. It is now at http://archive.ahrq.gov/downloads/pub/evidence/pdf/meditation/medit.pdf http://archive.ahrq.gov/downloads/pub/evidence/pdf/meditation/medit.pdf -- ---In FairfieldLife@yahoogroups.com, dhamiltony2k5@... wrote : Wow, this is shocking that he'd do that. When in need of guidance, go directly to the source of wisdom, the Unified Field Transcendent. The multitudes that awaited Jesus’ arrival cried, “Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord!” The thoughts we think, the cells in our bodies, and the events in our lives are like the multitudes who waited for Jesus: Everything in us waits for the appearance of the Christ—the Spirit of God in our midst—and shouts with joy at its arrival. If, for any reason, we are discouraged or in need, we recognize the Christ Spirit as it appears in our hearts and our consciousness. We feel uplifted. Through the power of the Christ transcendent within, our lives are transformed. -paraphrasing from Daily Word, By the virtue and a grace in our experience as Transcendentalists we welcome the Transcendent on Earth. My soul, be on guard; Ten thousand foes arise; The hosts of sin are pressing hard To draw thee from the skies. In the East China Sea, in very practical terms I should really quite like to see a well formed coalition made of the United Nations Peace-keepers immediately handling the logistics of a landing of teams of AFSC Quakers as experienced mediators of conflict and meditators from the Global Country of World Peace in field effect as a joint peace-making task-force. In coalition of peace-keeping make a landing now on some island rock between them countries all for a residence of coherence mediation meditation. It is high time to attack the incoherence there directly with a much more aggressive mediation of transcending meditation. -Buck Revolution now! Total arseholes. I've asked this before: can't the US simply cancel its (huge) debt to China citing the aggressive propaganda coming from the top as evidence of hostile intent? That would crash the Chinese bubble overnight.

It is just spiritual practice, in FF. With Best Regards, -Doug in FF

I don't doubt it. I've noticed the effects of physical postures. Ever notice how the hard- core flyers and Purushites are those who can sit in a lotus position? They can get the most from their practice. I used to be able to force myself into one for half a minute, and the shakti up the spine was terrific. But I tore knee cartilage flying that way, and let it go. I've noticed the mudra effects, too, but it felt too pretentious to keep up. It took effort, too, a clear violation of the teaching.
