If that is affection from Pastor Barry, he'd have our heads chopped off a la
Jihadi John when mad at us.

From FFL2:

It's the people who always knew he was lying about what he was doing and let
him get away with it who are the biggest losers in this Doug/Buck/Death of FFL
fiasco.
Buck's just a pissant religious fanatic. We've seen a lot of them come and go
during the long history of a.m.t. and FFL. True, none of them were as insane as
Buck, and as willing to go as far as he has in trying to reshape reality to
make it look more like his fantasies, but we've certainly seen people almost as
insane as he is before.
What we hadn't seen before The Coming Of Buck was so many ostensibly non-insane
FFL posters swinging into line and *backing* him in his attempts to take over
the forum and shape it into something else.
I mean, we could sit over here on FFL-2 and say Shame on you Doug Hamilton
all day and we know it would have no effect, because he's a crazy person and it
won't really affect him. But I think some time should be spent saying a few
other things, because they really need to be said:
Shame on you, Judy Stein.
Shame on you, Steve Sundur.
Shame on you, Ann.
Shame on you, Feste37.
Shame on you, jr_esq.
Shame on you, Edg.
Shame on you, srijau.
Shame on you, Jason.
If you feel bad about what Doug/Buck has done to FFL and to the free speech
forum it once was, THESE are the people who deserve your scorn as much as he
does. THESE are the people who piled on and made up excuse after excuse after
excuse for why it was not only OK but the right thing to do when he banned
Barry, and then Xeno, and then Michael, and now Curtis.
Buck is just insane. These people are *dangerously* insane, because they
allowed their own hatred for Barry and his Thugs to cause them to look the
other way and allow Buck to do whatever he wanted. Some of them even *knew*
what he was doing, but for them that was OK because he was doing what THEY had
wanted to do for years -- Get Barry, And Anyone Who Liked Or Supported Him.
So yes, we've been watching as Doug/Buck plays The Wizard Of Ooze and runs
around getting rid of his enemies. And that's dangerous. But far MORE dangerous
in my opinion are the people who not only allowed him to get away with it but
took advantage of his bannings to let fly with years of pent-up hatred
towards Barry and those who liked him.
The first week after he banned me was like watching a re-enactment of the Two
Minutes Hate from Orwell's 1984. Instead of Emmanuel Goldstein as the ritual
hate object, it was Barry. That was an instructive experience for me, watching
all that hatred come spewing out, like having night vision goggles and watching
the roaches and the rats crawl out from under the kitchen counters when the
light goes out. Naturally, I added each of these people to my permanent Do Not
Read list, but I *do* remember what they said.
More important -- and the reason for this post -- I remember what they allowed
to happen, simply because it was happening to people they didn't like. Judy
made excuse after excuse after excuse for Buck, literally providing him with a
script he could read from if he felt like presenting a reason why he banned
me. So did some of the others. And even when he didn't make use of her
scripts and tried to stonewall everyone, she let him get away with THAT, too.
But most important, she and others *cheered* when he banned people with no good
reason, for the simple reason that they DIDN'T LIKE THOSE PEOPLE.
Buck is insane, and thus dangerous in a world in which free speech matters.
But people like this are far MORE dangerous, because they piggy-back off of the
insane fighters against free speech and free spirituality and *cheer them on*
as they destroy these things.
THESE are the people I am waiting to hear from over on FFL.
What Buck is is now beyond dispute. These people can no longer pretend that he
is acting in any kind of ethical manner. So what are they going to do now?
My bet is that they're going to go silent and stay that way. They'll talk about
trivia and horses and TV shows and pretend that they not only didn't stand up
and do something when witnessing the rape of an entire forum -- they actually
cheered the rapist on.
Fuck the whole lot of them. They got the forum they deserve...
