Of course, but what of it? Its going to be a blockbuster just becuase Jackson did it, and it looks like its going to be a nicely done remake, also. Of course, this is Jackson's second remake of King Kong. The first was done when he was about 9 (it took about 3 hours to stage and film using dolls).
