Revelations that the National Security Agency is tapping smartphone applications to mine personal information highlight the risk millions take every day when they play games, schedule lunch or check the weather. Is this where you and Rita got that fake security camera? Yes, we got the fake security camera at a local store in San Antonio. It looks really real even up close. It has a blinking red LED and swivels left to right based on motion sensing. $7.95 at Harbor Freight Tools. This cam we got from Amazon - they look real too, and they have a flashing red LED, but DO NOT have the motion sensing feature. As the economy grows worse crime will rise and the chances someone will break into your home will increase. There is always a chance of a random break in. One lady we know, an older lady, that lives down the street, got followed home from the store - the robbers caught up to her when she was opening her driveway fence. They tried to spray her with pepper spray and then stole her pickup with her purse in it. She had just come from getting pictures processed onto a CD at Walmart. Now that's really low! Be sure to watch in your rear-view mirror on your way home! What I used to worry about is what if some drug-crazed speed freaks were on the run from the cops ad they tried to get in here to hide - a home invasion. They couldn't get in now that we have the bars up on all the windows and doors. But some of these people around here are sitting ducks for that kind of thing. They say they don't know how the devices that do this work. Duh. I watched the one surveillance video of this kid who walks past cars with a device in his hand. As he walks past one car he stops and backs up and opens it door. That tells me his device simply is running through a series of codes hoping that one will match the code on one of the cars. When it does that car will beep telling them they have hit the jackpot. These kind of these deserve public lynching. That'll stop 'em.
