Life History of H.H. Sri Swamiji 160 Current Swamy The story was proceeding normally. But it will never end if one started talking about the twists in the thinking of the human mind. If one listens to a lie ten times, he would start believing it to be true. Is it impossible to find any person who after drinking milk and sugar daily for some time and then one day would comment, "Does sweetness mean this?" "Not really." But during 1966, it was possible to find dozens of such people in Kesere. All those people had benefitted from the blessings received from Swamy. They had witnessed many miracles. They were all from respected families and devotees of Swamy. They were from the Kesere colony itself. After the episode with the college students, some of them started thinking that all the powers seen were not real and were only tricks to fool people. They came to the conclusion that it was the reason why Swamy was not able to find an alternate site for his ashrama. One day they went to Swamy and asked, "Do you have extraordinary powers?" Swamy looked at them innocently and asked, "What do you mean by extraordinary powers?" "We do not know that. This is the electricity colony and has high power generator supplying power to the entire town. The power passing through the cables is of high wattage. Can you really hold on to the live wire and survive?" they asked. "Do you mean to say that if one survives such a dare devil act, you consider him to have extraordinary powers." "We do not want to listen to such talk. Have you got such power or not?" The news of this confrontation reached the ears of the ladies of the colony. They all got frightened at the attitude of their men folk. Crying loudly they ran to the ashrama and begged their men to stop behaving silly. They said, "We have young children of our own. Let us not argue about the extraordinary powers. We have been benefitted from Swamy in a number of ways. We do not want such tests. We do not lose anything if he has no such powers." Pobbathi Ramiah from Proddatur had come just that morning to the ashrama. Excitedly and silently he stood aside and watched the proceedings. "What should we do now? All these people have served me faithfully in some form or other before. They have received benefit from me. But they are now falling down instead of climbing up. (In the spiritual path). The mothers, out of affection towards their children are trying to stop their men behaving badly. They themselves are not bothered about the extraordinary powers. Should I let these men fall down?" Thinking on these lines Swamy walked briskly towards the door of the house, cut the wire supply to the house to the house with his bare hands and held on to the live wire. Also he did not have wooden clogs on. It all happened in a fraction of a second. A big spark ensued from the live wires, it blew the fuses in the pole above and power supply to a number of houses was cut off. Those who witnessed it were stunned. Those who came to test the powers of Swamy were frightened. "Natesha, light the candles. Let us all go in. Do not be frightened," Swamy told those around him. All the residents fell at the feet of Swamy and asked to be excused. Swamy told them all in a serious tone of voice, "I am giving you all a warning. Remember it all through your life, you have seen the proof many times of my powers and still wanted further proof. I have demonstrated it again. Decide now itself that your guru is. You have seen the power in front of you. You may go away from here if you do not consider the power in front as your guru. Do not be frightened; no harm will come to you. My blessings are with you always. Find another guru if you want to, but do it immediately. Go out from here if you want to, I will give you the prasadam. I have no animosity or hatred towards any of you." Swamy paused for a second. There was an eerie silence like that in a crematorium. Swamy's voice burst forth again, "None of you have moved. You have no more right to move. You have tested your guru and then only taken his shelter. You have no right to go away and no right to test me again. I have the right to walk you on the path, test you and even to punish you. "He" has a right to save you. That is totally different subject. Please go now." The spark and the blowing of the fuse box were noticed at the office of the electricity board. The news soon reached the higher officials.
