Was a Benedictine monk who felt the urge to visit India. His Awakening started 
in the Presence of Ramana Maharshi in 1949. Traveled to Rishikesh the early 
70's but died in 1973.

[note: the term "Hindu" may not be appropriate in the context of Ramana 
Maharshi, since the latter never regarded himself as a Hindu. In terms of A's 
challenge to reconcile Christianity with Advaita; there may be "irreconcialable 
differences" (words used by MZ) involved; but imo such differences pertain to 
the "theology" and not the "Spirituality".
