If the majority wanted unlimited posting and constant bickering, I would probably allow it, but I wouldn't (and didn't) enjoy it.

Since you instituted the posting limit, there has been as much trashing--direct and oblique--of TM supporters here as there was before. If either wants to waste their quota on bickering, at least the other will know that it will end soon. (And I strongly suspect your perspective would be a bit different if you had been the target of dishonest and wildly unfair trashing day in, day out, for years.) As the moderator of this very contenious forum, I'd guess Rick has. If you *want* TM critics to be able to freely trash TM supporters, and *want* the TM supporters not to be able to respond, the posting limit is just the ticket. Which is of course the idea, Rick was just hoping nobody would notice, since *everyone* who comes here divides the world into pro and anti-TM groups. I mean, is there really any other way to see things? :) If you want, on the other hand, to stop the trashing and the constant ill feeling and ugly atmosphere it generates, the thing to do is sanction the trashers. In a few rare cases, if we're feeling good we respond to the positive or funny posts with more positivity or humor. But the bottom line is that 90 of the posts here -- out of habit -- are REACTIVE. I think that the New FFL is a Good Thing. It *does* have more silence, and that's a Good Thing because it's more like a Quaker meeting than a pile-on argument at the corner bar. In Quaker meet- ings no one says anything UNLESS THEY'VE GOT SOMETHING TO SAY. I suspect that that's the case with the New FFL. Give it some time. I think that *most* people here have something to say, if they are just given enough time to realize it and get over the need to respond compulsively to What Other People Say.
