John, I think May Day is quite a celebration in some European countries and for
Imbolc we have Groundhog Day on Feb. 2. Only Aug 1 lacks a contemporary version.

that coincide with the other Celtic holidays you mentioned. But for
astrological reasons, they can be used to keep time of the season.
