I just noticed that when I try to pronounce
American English r-sound (eg. are), my tongue
is bent rather far backwards, farther than
when I try to pronounce Sanskrit retroflex
sounds (T, D, N etc.)! Have no idea whether
that's the correct way to pronounce it.
