Phalia told me that whatever you do during that time counts in years, i.e. for 
2 and a third (?) years to come afterwards.

I don't know of course if that is a fairy tale. So better do something 
auspicious and wholesome (but not eating!!) during that time like meditating or 
so, listening to Vedic chantings or so.
