Methinks the most reliable indicator of TC might well be praaNaayaama*, which PataƱjali defines like this: tasmin sata svaasa-prashvaasayor gativicchedaH praaNaayaamaH. Taimni's translation: [IT]: This [aasana - card] having been (accomplished) Pranayama which is cessation of inspiration and expiration (follows).

Sch. pranayama (praaNaayaama) is usually thought of as various breathing exercises but the "deepest" meaning of it seems to be the same which yoga-tattva-upanishad (IIRC) calls kevala kumbhaka. According to YKU, the first thing one should do to raise the kuNDalinii "between the eyebrows" is samiirasya jayam, control (stopping?) of the movement (of praaNa). That prolly is the same thing as kevala kumbhaka and PataƱjali's caturtha (chaturtha = fourth [praaNaayaama]). * usually "de-sandhied" as praaNa + aayaama
