By most 3rd-hand accounts I have heard, Girish Varma is a bit of an elitist snob who fully supports the Hindu concept of divine right of anyone related to someone famous or important [because the Universe meant for them to be born into that family and get all the perks that arise for family members of someone famous or important]. That said, it's impossible to glean any useful data from the Indian press reports. Consider how sensationalist the Indian press has been about the fact that, *on the way to the air terminal, about 5-10% of the vedic pandits decide to become illegal immigrants rather than go back to India.
