Barry is terrified of:
1) those he perceives as imaginary mean girls (left over from his childhood
exclusion from being allowed to play dress up and Barbies with them. This has
been verified by his post this morning about Ken and Barbie.)
2) the possibility that he might possess an ego because this might mean he
isn't the man he imagines himself to be and is evidence that he was most likely
strapped into a dog collar by Rama and led around on the end of a leash.
