Yet you won't fulfill my simple request to explain
the relevance of your question to what I had said in
the post you were responding to.

Shemp, I think everyone here realizes, despite your
and Barry's best attempts at demonization, that I
haven't answered your question because it was
rhetorical, not a genuine request for information.

Barry even suggests as much above when he says
everybody knows what my answer would be. So both
you and he are being disingenuous to pretend you
think I "can't bring myself" to answer.

You can't start a dialogue by stating a given and
then insisting that folks accede to it.

I declined mainly because it was so long ago that I forgot why I

But you've got to admit, Tantra, that it was really wonderful to
WillyTex use the "pie hole" expression once again.

It never ceases to get a chuckle out of me...

And it's not that I want to "attack" Judy or "one-up" her...it's
because I truly believe that this sort of dialogue should be
happening in the TMO. And, to a certain extent, we on this
newsgroup are connected to the TMO and they could benefit from that
dialogue.

Discuss? No way. Like Chauncey Gardner, I like to watch.
Especially if one of the parties involved is strong in the
knowledge and pure.

Actually, I told Shemp I'd be happy to answer the
question if he could tell me how it was relevant
to the post of mine it was a response to.

He declined.

I suspect even Shemp knows better than that.

And if you can't fool him, man, who *can* you fool?

You really are losing your touch, Barry.

Pi-(w)hole = the ratio of the diameter ("through-measure" = "through-

It was a reference to a saying by a former spiritual
teacher. Really. Rama used to say, "Just because
you've got a pussy, it doesn't mean you have to be
one."

In this case, I think a number of people feel that
the inability of someone who *lives* to argue and
have the "last word" in any situation to deal with
the simple question that Shemp posed is fairly
significant. IMO, she has a resistance to lying,
and knows that her honest answer to the question
he posed is "No." But she can't bring herself to
say it.

Pretty weird superstition, if you ask me...

Shemp posed a rather simple question to answer.
And I think that everyone here knows that your
answer, like theirs, would consist of one word,
containing only two letters.

The fact that you cannot bring yourself to utter
that word speaks volumes about the pedestal on
which you have placed Maharishi. IMO, of course.

I said in the post you were responding to.

Complete non sequitur, sorry.

I think what you'd find if you looked into it is that
the higher the altar they've put Maharishi on, the
less time they've actually spent in his presence.
Judy has never even been in the same room with the
man, after 30+ years of devoted TM practice. I don't
know about lupidus, but I'd be willing to bet that he
never spent much actual time around the man either.

If they had, they'd realize that's exactly what he is,
a man. And that no man is ever going to enlighten
them. Can't be done. One can only realize one's
own enlightenment, oneself.

Those who wait for someone else to do it for them
will be waiting forever. And they'll be angry just
about as long, because it's taking so long to happen.
And they'll blame anyone who criticizes Scotty/MMY,
because they have to find some reason WHY it's taking
so long. It just *can't* be because they've misplaced
their faith, and looked in the wrong place for their
own enlightenment. It just *has* to be because some
people are hindering them somehow by not believing
in Scotty/MMY the way they do. "These people must
be *stopped*. They're BAD. Their disbelief and
disrespect is keeping Scotty/MMY from beaming me
up. Gotta demonize them. Gotta keep other people

2005-09-05 Thread Premanand Paul Mason
I just took time off to meditate, for maybe about half an hour, I
don't know how long it was and I find that it is still possible to
transcend thought, in spite of having just been reading vitriole that
passes for intelligent response. I imagine these 'fundies' have
invested an awful lot of faith in getting their salvation via MMY. It
is ironic that the core of the reaction has nothing to do with
meditation but with blindly trying to find fault with the messenger,
and with perching their images of MMY precariously back on the altars
of their imaginations.
