 6) If FFL is such a zoo why are you still hanging around? And if bawee is to

What I want to know is why is Barry trying to make us think he was a big

This activity of Barry has all the clear indications of /Narcissistic

Barry sucks as an cult exit counselor!

The question is why is he going to great lengths to plant misleading and

Hey there Mr Reporter Man. Here are a few tidbits to cogitate on.
 1) bawee reads everyone's posts especially if he suspects they are about him.
He keeps a running tally.
 2) if anyone is talking about bawee it makes his day. Why do you think he
comes across as such a disappointed whack job? Hint: because he is a
disappointed whack job.
 3) reading a book about Rama is not about bawee, it is about Rama. Saying that
we are reading a book by an author (Mark Laxer) who used to be part of the
inner circle of Lenz's cult and claiming anyone who reads it is obsessed by a
bit player who once was part of that cult (bawee) is like saying anyone who
reads Stephen Hawking's book A Brief History in Time is obsessed with his dry
cleaner
 4) bragging about reading a book. Maybe if I was in first grade and managed
to finish it.
 5) Demonize? bawee is nowhere near being in the category of demon, sorry.
You have to be powerful and interesting and mysterious to be that.
 6) If FFL is such a zoo why are you still hanging around? And if bawee is to
be believed you've been here a while so how long has it taken to realize what
is going on here, Mr Reporter?
 7) you should be a little more discriminating in who you keep company with;
there is guilt by association in this joint.

Color me not surprised. I guess it gives them something to do other than whack
off. :-)

A distinction should be made between a religion and it's

It seems Barry and Jim are unhappy with my postings. Should

I suggest that if anyone wants the best commentary on this incident he or she

Somehow Rick convicted Jedi as guilty of posting anti-Semitism when the Jedi
was just posting an opinion of the Torah. Go figure.

The key word in the first sentence of Dan's message to Rick is rampant
anti-Semtism. Rick already agreed that the message in this case was
anti-Semitic. So, now the question is to what extent is FFL rampantly
anti-Semitic, or is this just an isolated case?

So, why would that be cause to ban the jedi_spock? Rick already posted a
warning to the jedi_spock. It looks like the jedi_spock was punished twice. Go

Rick failed as a fair and balanced moderator. And since Rick deleted the

vengeful, cruel. That's not anti-Semitism. It's mere literary criticism. Yet on
this board Little Mickey Jackson is allowed to spew forth his hate speech

Your insistence of always being correct is ridiculous.

I genuinely don't know whether you believe what you're

Why on earth should they? Especially when you are

If it did exist, you could prove me a liar and
exonerate yourself. If it existed, why on earth wouldn't
you post it? Why do you think repeating your claim over

have no evidence to back it up?

Life doesn't work like that, Nabby. Again, you've

 Thanks for the Pesticides, America!
 By Evan Mascagni, Salon

fter eating a school lunch that was made with cooking oil tainted with
the toxic pesticide monocrotophos, 23 Indian children were recently
killed. While themedia has highlighted the widespread use of highly
 hazardous chemicals
  -indias-struggle-with-pesticides/?_r=1 in India and subsequent
health
effects, what's largely unreported isthe role that the United States
has played — and continues to play — in the tragic but
preventable deaths from monocrotophos around the world.

Monocrotophos is an organophosphorus insecticide developed
 by Ciba-Geigy
(now Novartis) and first registered for use in the United States in
1965.Shortly thereafter, it was discovered to be extremely toxic, and
 was linked
gerous-pesticide/ to massive bee die-offs, thousands of bird deaths
and extreme risks to human health and the environment. This ultimately
led the Environmental Protection Agency to restrictand eventually
banits
 use in 1989 .

But, even though monocrotophos was prohibited for use domestically,
corporations were permitted to continue making the chemical for export
only. In fact, in the five years after this insecticide was banned in
the U.S., more than 1 million pounds were exported from U.S. ports
, often arriving in some of the
poorest countries in the world. This practice was and continues to be
 allowed under the federal law
 that states,
pesticides that are not approved — or registered — for use
in the U.S. may be manufactured in the U.S. and exported.

In what became the ultimate irony, after the U.S. banned monocrotophos
but continued to export it, traces of the chemical were found on
produce
imported back into the country. The U.S. General Accounting Office
examined results of tests on imported produce for traces of
unregistered
pesticides between 1989-91, and monocrotophos accounted for 69 of the
88
 violations
s.html it discovered. This finding completed what David Weir and
Mark
 Schapiro originally called
QC the Circle of Poison,in which banned pesticides first
harm American workers who help produce them for export, then travel
abroad where they are routinely sprayed on workers in the fields and
nearby communities, and ultimately return to the U.S. on imported
food.

Fast forward to 2013, where under current U.S. law it is still
perfectly
legal for a company to manufacture monocrotophos for export only.
While
current export data is difficult and costly to obtain and analyze, we
do
know that for some reason monocrotophos continues to be imported to
the
United States, but not for domestic use. In general, pesticides not
approved for use in the United States are not allowed to be imported
for
use in the United States, but if that pesticide is coming into the
U.S.
for the sole purpose of formulation or packaging for export, its
arrival
 is permitted . Whether
it's for formulation, packaging or just a pit stop before ultimately
landing somewhere else in the world, U.S. Customs and Census import
data
 for 2013 shows that
monocrotophos continues to be imported to the United States.

The deaths of the 23 Indian schoolchildren happened more than twenty
years after the pesticide's ban in the United States. It's time
to reexamine our archaic export laws on chemicals not approved for use
in the United States. Until we do so, we remain a crucial player in
 continuing the circle of poison.

The US has the greatest influence in the world, of any country. Unfortunately,
that means when we have a bad idea, it spreads. When living in SE Asia, I had

for mosquito eradication. Thankfully no long term health effects for me. Also
used to drink a lot of untreated water.

Hi Michael,

Also a thanks for posting this from me.
I don't have the credentials to make a diagnosis of Vaj, but I can say that my
dealings with him here have always had me perplexed as to why he can not admit
that he is ever wrong about anything. His pattern with me is simply not to
deal with subjects that I bring up when he has no way to prove his position
and his superiority.

Probably the one I remember best is when I once wrote and said that I felt that
I have great gratitude toward MMY because I have experienced everything that he
promised I would. Vaj's response was that I think I have experienced
everything he promised, implying that I hadn't really had the experiences that
I have had. And I'm thinking, what kind of egotistic moron is he to believe he
knows my experiences better than I do?!! Only someone who seriously has his own
ego in need of an overhaul.

wrote:

In this case, we'd say Vaj is clearly an Anti-Authoritarian flavor of
 Narcissist.

THE MAN'S WRITINGS REVEAL HIS NATURE

In his writings here over the years, Vaj revealed that he's designed a
spiritual path where he is dependent on no one teacher or technology,
where he doesn't have to actually surrender his individual
 ego/intellect,
where his ego/intellect picks and chooses spiritual bits and pieces
 (like
one would pick candies from a Whitman's Sampler Box) - a technique
here, a spiritual visit there, an intellectual scriptural reference
 here, a
name-dropping about some famous or obscure-but-special-sound-
ing teacher there. And he has strung all these spiritual bits
 together
like shiny beads on a necklace - all these teachers, and visits, and
 read-
ings, and words, and intellectual ideas. And he says, in effect:
Look
 at
what I've gathered! Look at how shiny I am! Look at how special I
am!

For Vaj, the best thing he could do, in my compassionate opinion (from
both the spiritual and psychological perspective), is to put all this
 stuff
down. Put down the teachers, books, techniques, memories, etc. Let
it
all go - and just look within to see who or what's behind it all. Be
 simple,
be invisible, be quiet. See who's there. This would be way, way, way
simpler than the convoluted spiritual world that he projects here!

Read back over a bunch of Vaj's posts on this list and notice that:

 1. You'll see lot's of NEGATIVITY: don't do this, don't believe that,
 distrust
this, don't practice that... And he'll point out how various people
-
 from
Maharishi to members of this forum - are damaged or defective. But
you
WON'T see much positivity: do this, believe this, trust this,
practice
 this -
almost nothing that is actually helpful or useful to those on the
path.
 He's
a great Anti-authoritarian, but he offers so little that's useful for
 real spiritual
progress. But that's what Anti-authoritarians do - they tear down
those
 who
are actually trying to do something, but they offer little to replace
 it.

 2. You'll also see lot's of COMPLICATION: esoteric,
complicated-sounding
knowledge, reference to many sects and texts and teachers, book
learning
galore... But the Truth is simple! And you won't see simplicity from
 Vaj.
He has a good intellect, and uses it like a Narcissist would - to
weave
 a
difficult-to-follow maze that's meant to impress, to keep us
 off-balance, to
give us the impression that he's quite the expert.

 3. You'll see that his words feel like they come mainly FROM MEMORY or
FROM INTELLECT - but not from heart, or compassion, or empathy - and
especially NOT from some foundation of his own simple, direct,
personal
 experience of the Truth.

Vaj's writings, when they refer to any knowledge, just dangle a hint
 of it
out there, like a carrot, vague and unsubstantiatable but very
 important-
 sounding.  His tone says: I'm very knowledgeable, very important;
I've
 got
IT and you don't; but you'll never figure IT out from me; my words
will
 be
vague, hinting at things, puffing me up - but rarely of any value in
 helping
 you with evolution.

Vaj will say, in effect: trust me, I'm an expert, I've got special
 experience
and knowledge, I've been around the spiritual block - what you
bumpkins
are taking so seriously is unimportant kindergarten-level stuff. I'll
 talk
ABOUT higher stuff, I'll hint at it, I'll tell you what an expert I am
-
 but I'll
rarely if ever actually teach you anything useful. In fact, I'll run
 away from
any intelligent discussion of my points, either by belittling you, or
 creating
a smokescreen of important-sounding (but actually meaningless) words,
or by just simply avoiding real discussion.

Vaj's words say: I'll just chip away at your beliefs, undermine your
 confi-
dence, try to tear down your commitment to your path, create doubt and
confusion - as any true Anti-authoritarian would do.

Look back at the body of Vaj's writings:
Where's the compassion, where's the love, where's the useful knowledge
that a real teacher shares, where's the practical advice, where's the
 true
 teacher? But Anti-authoritarian Narcissists don't lead, don't teach -
 they
just want to tear down those who do lead, who do teach. Put them in
charge, and they wouldn't know what to do. Their life-script is about
emasculating leaders and living in a fantasy of self-importance.

 CONCLUSION #2:
 ACTUALLY NARCISSIST (PLUS ANTI-AUTHORITARIAN)?
OR SOMETHING MORE TROUBLING AND DARK?

So we've noticed that if we're looking for real, compassionate
spiritual
guidance, we'll be frustrated by Vaj - and we've had years to watch
what he serves up. Instead we get

Just curious: there seems to be at least two possible

(snip)
I remember, I was on my way to visit his ashram, one time, back in the 1980's,
but never made it there...(so, here's the intuitive hearsay...)

This is my take on Maharishi and Osho:
 'Mirror Opposites of Each Other'...

Maharishi claimed that Rajneesh, became enlightened, spontaneously, and didn't
come from a tradition, so he didn't have a structure program to help other's
get to the state of enlightenment...

Also, the gross, display of idolatry, with Rajneesh, with those expensive
English cars...and the weird lady that took over the ashram, and the murderous
plot to poison some of the people in the adjacent town in the State of
Oregon...Rajneesh, was eventually drummed out of the United States, and died,
feeling that he was poisoned by the C.I.A.

Rajneesh was into all kinds of 'sexual freedom', which included orgies, with
him watching, to see if everything was going well

Srange, for a Guru to be so blantantly voyeuristic...
Anyway, we can see what happened with his movement, and the TM
movement...although, it is what it is, at least, compared to Oshos stuff, it
seems stableand more on track, to create world peace and deep understanding
of consciousness, for the masses...and even though we all think that Deepak is
kind of strange, at least he is also expanded the knowledge for the sleeping
masses...

observed or participated in any orgies.

Apparently the Rajneesh had a single girlfriend,

Could, we see your badge, please?

Meera,

Please excuse Robert's lame joke, which you will not
understand. It has to do with the fact that the so-
called spiritual organization that most people on
this forum have in common really *does* require
badges to indicate whether a person deserves to
be able to meditate with them.

Welcome, but be warned. This organization, referred
to here often as the TMO or TM organization, has
taught its students for 40 years that theirs is the
*best* form of meditation in the universe, and the
most effective at producing enlightenment. That same
organization has failed to produce even one person
in all those 40 years whom they can point at as
enlightened. Do you detect something wrong with
this picture?

Many others on this forum do as well. They may have
positive feelings for Maharishi Mahesh Yogi and the
headstart that he gave them on the spiritual path,
but have since taken other paths, and prefer them.
They are open-minded and rarely try to push their
opinions on others as Truth.

The True Believer (TB) TMers (practitioners of
Transcendental Mediation or TM) you will encounter
here WILL try to push their opinions on you as some
kind of Truth. Mention Osho to them and they will
most likely launch into an impassioned diatribe
about what a slimeball he was, and against you per-
sonally for bringing him up. Don't take it too
seriously; they do this with ANY other teacher than
Maharishi. They have been *trained* to do this, in
many cases for 30 to 40 years.

I happen to agree with you about the Internet being
a place where people can share their knowledge. I'm
just warning you that a LOT of folks you will encounter
on this forum don't really feel like sharing. Their
approach instead is to repeat the things they have
been taught are knowledge over and over and over,
declare them the best knowledge or the highest
knowledge, and put down anyone who doesn't agree.

Don't take my word for it. Just watch the posts made
by the following list of members. These are people
who are all dedicated 30-to-40 year practitioners of
TM (with no experience of any other techniques), and
who thus should be examples of what it produces. Pay
attention to their *behavior* and their *intent* and
the things they choose to focus on as much as you do
their words, and see whether you think it represents
knowledge you would be interested in acquiring.

Well, we're all gonna have to wait an entire week to find out how he's doing,
because in not being able to resist joking about sagging African breasts, he
made a 51st post for the week. But, hey, at least he has a bottle of xanax to
get him through the FFL withdrawal.

I would proceed with caution and only take it (Xanax) as a last resort. Once
you get used to it, it will be very difficult to live life on life's terms. In
short you become dependent on it like any drug. I don't think it will help your
meditations any either. In fact IMHO spiritual progress is held in check until
you lose your dependence on it and learn to deal with the underlying issues.

This is just from my experience with a friend of mine who's been on a
'psycho-tropic' for probably 30-40 years. It's like you're not dealing with a
real person as their reactions are altered by the drug.just some
comments from the peanut gallery. Good luck!

Yes, I'm sure. In his asking for advice post, he remarked that it was his 49th
post, and last night's post count confirms that he was at 49 posts for the
week. His thanks for the input post was his 50th, and his post about sagging
African breasts was his 51st. The deadline is tonight at 7pm central time.

But surely African sagging beasts might upset someone, somewhere,
somehow?

That post should be deleted and the count reset!

Dear Shemp, whoever you are.

Sorry you're having troubles, if you are not putting us on.

No one here is willing to give you a checking here, so I will give it a go.

Back up a moment. So, are you a meditator?
Do you practice meditation regularly?
If you practice meditation, do you also include a full
set of asanas, and pranayama before you meditate?
Do a full meditation? Take plenty of time to come out of meditation?

Of course as we all know if we don't take plenty of time to come out of
meditation afterwards it could give rise to some roughness or irratibility in
activity.

May be then really look to your spiritual practice and life routine too.
Simpler things like good routine, bath before bed and take some hot milk or
herbal tea before sleep.

You might want to go to the TM-ex web site and read through the old meditation
checking notes there. There is a lot of good advice in them. That might be of
help too.

Oh, if you meditate regularly, are you doing the long meditations? Like the
three hour Raja program?

How about going back t o the basic 20minutes two times a day. You know, slow
simmer instead of boil.

Alcoholic beverages
Main article: Alcoholic beverage

Ethanol is the principal psychoactive constituent in alcoholic beverages, with
depressant effects on the central nervous system. It has a complex mode of
action and affects multiple systems in the brain, most notably ethanol acts as
an agonist to the GABA receptors.[65

Therapeutic properties of benzodiazepines are mediated by enhancing the effect
of the inhibitory neurotransmitter GABA at GABAA receptors, resulting in a
depressant effect on the central nervous system.[4]

Obviously Shemp is worried that if he takes the Xanax he will become a

And if he follows the ayurvedic suggestions, a liberal. :-D

And if he follows both, a liberal mindless

It could also be conscience, if you know you're doing something wrong and yet
insist on doing it, it can cause anxiety and nervousness, especially in the
stomach. You're stomach is trying to tell you something, and the *gut feeling*
is a symptom of an underlying psychological conflict.

Until the conflict is resolved the nervousness or anxiety will persist,
sociopaths don't have this problem since they have repressed all of their
natural reflexes, also, some people use drugs and alcohol to repress these
natural feelings of conscience...it's called the pangs of conscience.
