Well, that's a rather generous interpretation of
his comment I was referring to (snipped by you):

Of course, unlike Ann Coulter, Hitler was a socialist
(like many on this forum).

I think from comments I have read in this forum before,
there are a lot of people that want more government

Yes, that's a big question, typically unexamined by
those who like to label liberals socialists, as if
the only two choices were unbridled capitalism and
Marxian socialism.

But it's a lot easier to decide which side you're on
if you can make yourself believe there are only two
with nothing in between. Otherwise you might actually
have to *think* about what's involved.

(General you, not you personally.)

Yes I think the question is where do you draw the line from
referring to a country as being capitalistic and being socialistic. There is a
point where it tilts from one side to the other. The more one pushes that
balance beam towards more social programs paid for by the wealthy, the closer it
is to tipping to being called a socialist

The U.S. is a mixture of both, with a very large leaning towards
capitalism.

But there is an incredibly large segment of the economy that is fed
and controlled by the government...to the tune of $2.8 trillion a
year (that's the federal government budget): Social Security,
Medicaid, Medicare, Education agriculture subsidies, etc.

All good for busting of myths, old concepts, bad stereotypes, and

Of course, unlike Ann Coulter, Hitler was a socialist (like many on

Did Hitler use the term liberal? I thought he called people
communists. I
know to many the terms would be interchangable.

NaZi, of course, is short for National Socialist. His tiff with the
communists was an in-the-family fight within the socialist family, the
same way Trotsky fought with Stalin...they were off a little between
their ideologies but, to them, they were worlds apart. So Hitler
referred to the communists as Bolsheviks, I believe, rather than
communists.

Like the communists, Hitler and his socialists believed in central
control of the economy and the means of production.

Like Hitler, the father of Communism, Karl Marx, was a rabid anti-
semite and hated Blacks.

Many, many similarities.
