The purpose of the Electoral College vote was to keep a few larger states from
dominating the rest of them.The founding fathers didn't trust a pure democracy.
They knew that the people could be persuaded to accept *goodies* for their
freedoms.

probably designed the Constitution this way to allow the voters to heal the
differences after the election and move on to running the government for the

the Founding Fathers has been shown once again in writing the Constitution this
way.
