Ah, so a totally different person whose only claim to fame is having a similar name to the other guy? (that and being totally nutso). I find him amusing, thought provoking and he uses a lot of easily verifiable history. After all we never seem to ask just what these big summits and conferences are trying to achieve and just exactly how they will effect us. And he does BS a bit. I was listening to the Vyzygoth interview where he claims that musicians like the Beatles were incapable of writing the music they did. I don't know about the Beatles specifically but many of the musicians in the 60's including myself who played rock had serious music educations and often would have preferred play jazz over rock but were intrigued by the money being made. When I was in high school an issue of Downbeat came out with the score to Quincy Jone's Jessica's Day which included some chordal harmonies I had yet to play with. I showed them to a couple of friends in a rock band and they immediately wrote some songs around them. Watt is correct when he says that musicians when they become famous may actually buy their material since the demands of touring and the business can kill their creativity. Then it is well known (and documented in his book All You Need is Ears) that George Martin tooled a lot of what were sketches into Beatle hit tunes. Often what we want to believe about our pop stars has been crafted by PR people and is far from reality. Did you ever see the early 1970s film Stardust? I watched kids stomp out because they didn't like the truth it told about the rock business which I knew well by then. Must be a torrent. ;-) Yup, I did a search and the torrents are there already. Is it a screener DVD (which they send to video stores)? The actual DVD is scheduled for August 1st and there is a two disk collectors edition too. I had a girlfriend who worked in local television back in the early 70's and would frequently tell me you won't believe what they had the dredge up for news tonight! On the whole, while admitting that some people seem to have a need to believe the worst about any News story, I think that in America at this time a tendency to *disbelieve* anything you hear on the Nightly News is considerably healthier than a tendency to believe it. Indeed, this is why as wild as Alex Jones, David Icke, and even funky Alan Watt may be I like to see what they're up to as sometimes they hit the truth more than fiction (besides everyday truth is boring). Now what if someone you knew who was in a position to know say about what really happened on 9-11 told you some things in strict confidence and tells you if you dare tell anyone else he might be killed would you pass on the info anyway? We the common folk forget what people in the upper circles know and what decisions can be made to spin the news as to not cause mass hysteria. The truth indeed may be far stranger than fiction. I saw it originally in French, and wanted to hear the at-times-overly-wordy dialogue in its original English. The actual DVD is scheduled for August 1st and there is a two disk collectors edition too. It's far from a great film, but it's certainly interesting, and it certainly captures a certain aspect of the times we live in and what may have to be done to have done with them. In an era in which elections are stolen and votes are not counted, it may well be past vote the bastids out time and may be verging on throw them out using any method that works time. I'm fascinated that you like this film, Barry, because its philosophy is SO very NRAish and pro-individual and anti- government. Big hit on libertarian and anarcho-capitalist websites. Really? You must've seen a different film. It was anti-fascist and the graphic novel was especially that way. Though I'm not pro-NRA I'm not anti-gun either. They're handy to stop right wingers in their tracks. :) To subscribe, send a message to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Or go to: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/FairfieldLife/ and click 'Join This Group!'
