Re: [FairfieldLife] Re: For Sri Alex-Ji
The Lumia was of course a joke. Too bad US Cellular doesn't GSM. CDMA is rather dated. Verizon has CDMA too. It's a scam to make you buy the phone from them. If you had a GSM service it's a SIM card you can just put in any new GSM phone and you can get the phone anywhere which saves money. You'll be overpaying for that S4 on a cellular plan. Speaking of plans, I just got off the phone yelling at T-Mobile. My monthly plan didn't auto refill. The credit card on the plan was one that hackers got from Raley's (damn if I'll even use a credit card there again). The bank replaced it with a different one and I went online to T-Mobile and change the account number to the new card. First off they have a screwball interface for that but it appeared it went through. I was able to get to an CSR and she checked and indeed the system showed the new card on the billing section but somehow it was implemented on another. So two thumbs down T-Mobile billing. I told her to make sure the problem gets reported up the line as this SHOULD NOT be happening. The only reason I'm using T-Mobile is for a $30 a month plan that has 5 GB data per month and 100 minutes of talk. I'm not a talker and some months there's less than 30 minutes of talk used. I still have landline for most calls. But, it's probably just as well, because Google Play is having issues, and if I get a new phone right now, I probably won't be able to install a bunch of my apps. Weird, both Yahoo and Google having technical problems... must be retrograde Moon or something. Why not a Nexus 4 from Google? The 16 GB is $350. Plus you get the hot new Android OS's as they come out. I got Android 4.3 two weeks ago. It should work unless your carrier is CDMA (booo). Of course card is really disappointed you aren't getting a Lumia. :-D

Actually I don't want to be stuck with T-Mobile in case something better comes along. The pre-pay is okay as long as their billing doesn't screw up. Coverage is bad here but the phone still works and I use wifi for everything else. T-Mobile wanted to put a tower literally right behind my house. It would have been 4G LTE but the neighbors objected. Maybe they should try again but I think MetroPCS's coverage will be available on the phone once they get that synced in and it is better here (and of course MetroPCS is now part of T-Mobile). Anywhere else but this particular valley and coverage is good in this town. And what is this with T M things? :-D On 08/10/2013 09:20 AM, doctordumb...@rocketmail.com wrote: After being with them for years, I tried to go the prepaid route awhile back with T-Mobile, and they screwed it up, but I didn't get charged, and was offered a hidden plan that is really inexpensive, instead. The key seemed to be for me to curse a couple of times, and then settle down and listen - lol. They mess up sometimes, but they offer good cheap basic service, and have decent coverage around here. --- In FairfieldLife@yahoogroups.com, Bhairitu noozguru@... wrote: The Lumia was of course a joke.
