One day Patti (Boyd Harrison) asked the Maharishi if she and the
other women
could go down to the town. He giggled and replied that it was
impossible.
Patti insisted that she and the girls were adamant. He said No.
When
pressured for the reason why the girls could not visit the
vicinity of the
Ganges that day, Maharishi gave in and explained, If you walk
today by the
caves of the swamis in your miniskirts you will become a great
temptation.
Today, he explained, the swamis who have been meditating for many
years in
their caves will be coming out, and I cannot be responsible for
their
 actions.

Giggles followed his explanation. So much for self-control, I
thought.

Who giggled...Maharishi or the girls?

Certainly him. Probably them as well.

trying doing your sadhana in a brothel

I think I may have found a spiritual path that might suit my

 nature.

LOL. I wrote parts of my book sitting at the bar of
Yab Yum, the most famous brothel in Amsterdam. It
was actually a beautiful room, full of Asian art
and buddhas and all, but the women didn't hurt,
either. I liked the basic honesty of the place, and
 the interplay of energies.

Yeah, there's nothing like the when am I going to get my $50.00
 honest look of a hooker...
Just how long is that drive from Phoenix to Pahrump? :)
