Fedora 10 Update: perl-ORLite-1.17-1.fc10
Fedora Update Notification FEDORA-2009-0509 2009-01-14 23:38:01 Name: perl-ORLite Product : Fedora 10 Version : 1.17 Release : 1.fc10 URL : http://search.cpan.org/dist/ORLite/ Summary : Extremely light weight SQLite-specific ORM Description : SQLite is a light weight single file SQL database that provides an excellent platform for embedded storage of structured data. However, while it is superficially similar to a regular server-side SQL database, SQLite has some significant attributes that make using it like a traditional database difficult. For example, SQLite is extremely fast to connect to compared to server databases (1000 connections per second is not unknown) and is particularly bad at concurrency, as it can only lock transactions at a database-wide level. This role as a superfast internal data store can clash with the roles and designs of traditional object-relational modules like Class::DBI or DBIx::Class. What this situation would seem to need is an object-relation system that is designed specifically for SQLite and is aligned with its idiosyncracies. ORLite is an object-relation system specifically for SQLite that follows many of the same principles as the ::Tiny series of modules and has a design that aligns directly to the capabilities of SQLite. Additional it is the PC side frontend to QLandkarte M, a moving map application for mobile devices. And it fills the gap Garmin leaves in refusing to support Linux. QLandkarte GT is the proof that writing portable applications for Unix, Windows and OSX is feasible with a minimum of overhead. No excuses! QLandkarte GT does replace the original QLandkarte with a much more flexible architecture. It's not limited to a map format or device. Thus if you think your Magellan GPS or other should be supported, join the team. Additionally it is a front end to the GDAL tools, to make georeferencing scanned maps feasible for the normal user. Compared to similar tools like QGis, it's target users are more on the consumer side than on the scientific one. QLandkarte GT might not let you select every possible feature of the GDAL tools, but it will simplify their use to the demands of most users. Fedora 9 Update: perl-Data-TreeDumper-0.35-3.fc9
Fedora Update Notification FEDORA-2009-0474 2009-01-14 23:37:30 Name: perl-Data-TreeDumper Product : Fedora 9 Version : 0.35 Release : 3.fc9 URL : http://search.cpan.org/dist/Data-TreeDumper Summary : Improved replacement for Data::Dumper Description : Data::Dumper and other modules do a great job of dumping data structures. When dumping large amounts of data, the output can be overwhelming and it can be difficult to see the relationship between each piece of the dumped data. Data::TreeDumper also dumps data in a tree-like fashion but hopefully in a format more easily understood. This update can be installed with the yum update program. Use su -c 'yum update perl-Data-TreeDumper' at the command line. For more information, refer to Managing Software with yum, available at http://docs.fedoraproject.org/yum/.
