Hi All,

I am on the east coast, so I cannot help any of these kitties as they are
about 1-1/2 hours east of Los Angeles, CA. If anyone out there has any
connections or is in any position to help, please call Gig (818.943.0160)
or email him at [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thank you!

Friends & animal kindred,

A week ago, Kiera's mother's dear friend of over forty years (Marcia),
lost her battle with cancer. Marcia was a woman who loved animals,
especially cats. She donated much of her time, money and energy to finding
homes for stranded or abused cats. Marcia accumulated quite a few in the
process because she couldn't say 'no' to these lovely felines.

Over these past couple of months her wish has been to ensure that her cats
each find their ways to good, caring homes but her energy declined and
other than Kiera's mom none of Marcia's family or local friends have
stepped up to the plate to help grant her wish.

Her husband is functionally illiterate, never shared Marcia's compassion
for animals and is overwhelmed at the prospect of caring for a houseful
of cats. His plan was to take them to the shelter TODAY but a phone
call last night from Kiera offering her and my help convinced him to
wait a short while, at least until she and I have been able to mobilize,
alert the caring and relocate as many as we can. Our goal is ALL of them.

We believe there are 19 cats total. Jerry, Marcia's husband,
says he'll keep 3. So, there are 16 cats that need new homes.
        - They range from 1-6 years in age.
        - All have current shots.
        - Spayed and neutered.
        - Healthy.
        - Mostly indoor with some outside exposure.

Obviously they're all well-accustomed to living with and getting
along with other cats.

I'm down to caring for 3 cats so I'm prepared to take 2.
Kiera has 2 cats and lives in the smallest place of anyone I
know but still, she'll take 1.

Our plan is to make a trip out there (to Hesperia) <Note: Hesperia is
about 1-1/2 hours east of Los Angeles> on Tuesday in both our cars and
retrieve as many as we can carry. Our hope is that, by that time, we'll
have heard from several people ready and wanting to make room in their
homes and lives for a new little family member.

I'm sending this to you hoping you might be one of these people
or know someone who will be. Maybe you've recently thought of adopting
an animal, another animal. Maybe your child is ready to help care for a
creature and learn the rewards of doing so or maybe you're just like us
and feel the need to help. Please consider it. These sweet kitties
have much love left to share and we all know that the shelter will be
the end of the line for them.

I can always be reached at: 818.943.0160

        Thank you,
        Gary, Gig, Garrro
